Anna Duggar, former "19 Kids and Counting" star, spoke publicly for the first time about her husband Josh Duggar's personal scandals, which include child molestation allegations and his admission of being "unfaithful" in his marriage.
Duggar shared her reactions in a new promo for TLC's upcoming three-part special "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," slated to premiere Dec. 13.
"It was heartbreaking to hear what had happened, ya," she said in the clip, pausing to collect herself.
Josh's sisters, Jill (Duggar) Dillard, 24, and Jessa (Duggar) Seewald, 23, also begin to share in the promo how they've coped with their brother's troubles.
In the three-part TLC special "Jill & Jessa: Counting On," all three women reflect on the second scandal that rocked their family earlier this year when Anna's husband Josh Duggar admitted to infidelity and pornography addiction.
The special will follow Dillard's move to Central America to do missionary work, as well as Seewald's pregnancy. "There's still a lot of exciting milestones," Seewald says in the new promo.
"We will come out of this fire," Dillard adds.
"To say that Josh Duggar has had a bad year is perhaps an understated assessment, but to talk solely about Josh is to undermine and trivialize the real victims of Mr. Duggar's choices. You know who has had it worse than Josh? His wife, Anna," blogged Aaron Todd on Huffington Post in a piece entitled "Dear Anna Duggar (and Women Everywhere): It's Not Your Fault."
Anna's public comments come during the same week of stories about Josh being sued by a porn star.
Danica Dillon, an adult film star who claims that she was offered money to have sex with the former "19 Kids and Counting" star twice in March and April of last year, is asking for $500,000 in a lawsuit that alleges that he caused her "physical and emotional injuries," stated a Thursday Fox News article.
