The world has just celebrated the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, and it does not look as though there is any slowing down on Apple’s side for their smartphone which revolutionized the personal digital device market as the late Steve Jobs predicted it would. Along the way, Apple also did introduce their iPad which clearly paved the way for a slew of tablet manufacturers to follow suit. While the iPad did not spell the end for laptops as portable productivity devices, it carved open a useful niche of tablets that has served users well for many years. However, the tablet market has seen a decline in its interest over the past few quarters, and some fresh blood is needed in order to inject some more excitement into the scene. Along comes whispers of the next generation iPad Pro, which will be aptly known as the iPad Pro 2.
If there is one particular analyst who has been spot on most of the time concerning new and upcoming Apple products, it would be none other than Ming-Chi Kuo. The man has an uncanny ability to sniff out just how well Apple is going to perform in the upcoming quarter in terms of new products and devices, and he has rarely been proven wrong. In fact, he did reveal that the iPad Pro 2 is all set for a Q2 2017 roll out. That would not be too far away, as it is just slightly more than two months at the earliest, or a wee bit past five months if you were to stretch the time by a margin. Certainly news of the iPad Pro 2 has set tongues wagging everywhere, as it has been a while since there was a tablet worth getting all excited about.
Word has it that there will be three variants of the iPad Pro 2 that are being developed, and it will be far more than just an incremental upgrade. The purported three variants of the iPad Pro 2 would arrive in either 9.7-inches or 12.9-inches. In fact, the iPad Pro 2 is touted to be a vision of what personal computing is like in the future, with everyone hooked up to the cloud. Expect to see Apple’s in-house hardware pave the way for a speedy work time at unprecedented speeds. In fact, it will most probably have something to do with making the complex simple to manipulate. Some descriptions have mentioned making work as natural as touching, smoothing or writing using a pencil. It does not matter whether you pick up the 9.7-inch model or the 12.9-inch model, the iPad Pro 2 does seem to be shaping up to look powerful and versatile while maintaining a semblance of comfort and portability.
Would we see the likes of the Apple Pencil Stylus, Smart connector, quad speaker and smart keyboard make the cut for the iPad Pro 2? Chances are it will also follow the footsteps of the iPhone 7 by dropping the earphone jack and settle for the far more difficult to recycle Air Pods. So far, no exact date or pricing details concerning the iPad Pro 2 have been revealed, but it is certainly shaping up to be an exciting prospect by the time we welcome the second quarter of 2017!
