Audiences are awaiting the sequel to 2012's Avengers film, and Avengers: Age of Ultron does not look like it will disappoint, judging from its action-packed and epic trailer. The Release Date is set for May 1, 2015, but what can viewers expect from the plot of this sequel? Perhaps a little too much.
Yahoo Movies has reported that Joss Whedon, the director of the two Avengers films, has stated that Avengers: Age of Ultron will begin with "a pre-credit Bondian blow-out." In other words, it will begin with a big action sequence that may or may not tie in to the regular plot. Weedon describes the scene as having a lot of soldiers and taking place in some castle.
I'm guessing that the opening scene of Avengers: Age of Ultron will feature a fight with Baron Strucker's castle. Strucker is a Captain America villain from the comics, and he was seen at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. At the end of the post-credit sequence, Strucker talked about the power of "The Twins" and they look to be Quicksilver (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), who were Avengers at one point in time in the comics. There is a Lego set that is based on Baron Strucker's castle that has Quicksilver in it, but it is not certain if he is friend or foe. This is probably where the Twins will at least meet with the Avengers.
Once the dust settles from the conflict at Strucker's castle, some believe that the next scene after that Bondian blow-out will be the one from the extended preview where all the Avengers attempt to lift Thor's hammer. This party is spoiled by Ultron, who is noticeably mad at them all.
Ultron's origins in the film will be different than from the comic book source material. In the comic, Henry Pym, otherwise known as Ant Man and various other super-hero aliases, invented Ultron, who eventually went mad and tried to kill all organic beings. In the film, it will be Tony Stark and Bruce Banner who will construct Ultron, as Ant Man will have his own separate movie that is due out this summer.
However, when will Bruce and Tony do that? I wouldn't want Ultron to show up in Avengers 2 without at least one scene of Tony and Bruce making him or other kind of establishment. Eventually, this will lead to Ultron building a robot army to destroy the Avengers as well as any other organic beings.
This will bring about the creation of The Vision, who is also from the comics and can be seen on Avengers posters in his trademark cape (but only in the background). In the comic books, it was Ultron who created the vision to destroy the Avengers, but Vision decided to become good and joined the Avengers instead. I'm not certain how the Vision will come about in the film version, but the android character will be voiced by Paul Bettany. Bettany has been in Marvel films before as Iron Man's sentient computer program Jarvis, so I'm guessing that Tony will have some hand in constructing the Vision.
International Business Times reports that Scarlet Witch shares some of her visions with the Avengers that sends Thor away and drives a wedge between Iron Man and Captain America. I'm assuming that somehow Hulk and Iron Man begin to fight, as this is prominent on the Avengers 2 trailer and Hasbro toys.
So that is essentially the storylines of the Avengers: Age of Ultron. In case you haven't noticed, this is a lot to happen in one film. Hopefully, the film does not try to overstuff too many elements from its source material into one film, which has hurt comic book films of the past such as Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-man. Audience will have a chance to see how well the Avengers sequel will play out on May 1st.
