Batman Arkham Knight DLC December Release Date For PS4, Xbox One, PC

By Komfie Manalo

Almost immediately after the release of the November DLC for Batman Arkham Knight, all owners of season passes were able to get information on the December DLC for the series that will include new features.

The December DLC will include the Season of Infamy: Most Wanted Expansion with 4 additional missions and villains (Beneath The Surface - Killer Croc, In From the Cold - Mister Freeze, Wonderland - Mad Hatter, Shadow War - Ra's Al Ghul), The 2008 Movie Batman Skin, The Original Arkham Batmobile, and the Crime Fighter Challenger Pack #5 which includes 6 TBC AR Challenges.

Rocksteady Studios has also given the details about the Community Challenge Pack, an expansion for Batman: Arkham Knight that is set to be released in January. This pack includes content that were chosen in part by fans.

Rocksteady asked fans and surveyed what maps from Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City fans wanted to see added to Arkham Knight as predator and combat challenge maps. More than 800 responses were submitted through this discussion thread, and Rocksteady has now made the decision on which maps will make the cut.

The full map and challenge list are now posted on the Arkham Knight forums. The maps will include Wayne Manor and the Batcave from Arkham City, as well as the Sanatorium from Arkham Asylum. Collectively, there are five maps that were pulled from Arkham City, with just one map coming from Arkham Asylum. The full rundown is available below.

Predator Challenge Maps will include Wayne Manor Main Hall (Batman: Arkham City), The Batcave (Batman: Arkham City) and The Sanatorium Medical Facility (Batman: Arkham Asylum). While Combat Challenge maps will include Iceberg Lounge (Batman: Arkham City), Crime Alley (Batman: Arkham Knight) and The Monarch Theatre (Batman: Arkham City).

According to Rocksteady, The Community Challenge Pack also feature a new AR challenge, the game's seventh. This, too, was inspired by feedback from the fans. "We've been listening to you guys, and one of the most interesting ideas the community has had is for an endless survival predator map. We made a prototype and ended up really liking it, so we're bringing it to you in January."

The expansion is set to be available for Arkham Knight in January 2016 though a specific release date was not announced nor was it said if this DLC will be included with the game's $40 season pass. Gamespot has followed up with Arkham Knight's publisher, Warner Bros. in an attempt to get more details. Rocksteady mentioned that PC players--those who have stuck with the game through its problems--will get access to it "a little earlier" than Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players.

Meanwhile, Design Trend reported that PC players slammed Rocksteady Studios due to problematic PC port since June. This is the reason Rocksteady developers offered a gift.
