Just recently, a video of a police officer in a dance off with a teenager made rounds in the internet, gaining approval and praise from many viewers.

In a report that came out at Huffington Post, Aaliya Taylor, 17, was spotted by a police officer dancing in the groove of Silento's hit song, Nae Nae, and told her she's not doing it very smoothly. Taylor then challenged the police officer into a dance off and eventually "was shocked" by the police officer's moves.

"As I'm stepping off, I started to dance and then the cop was like, 'I could do better,' and I was like, 'OK, you want to challenge me?'" Taylor said in the NBC Washington interview. "I was in shock."

The unnamed police officer made a deal with the street kids before the dance off went on; if Taylor wins the dance off, they can stay on the street but if she wins, they will have to get of the said street, ABC News reported.

"No one was worried about the argument anymore," Taylor said in the ABC News. "The neighborhood was getting crowded...the attention was on us. Everyone was just looking at us."

What followed is an "amusing" dance off between the two with the cheering and applause of the other teenagers witnessing the dance battle. Taylor told ABC News further that after two minutes, everyone went home and the officer's moves left her "speechless".

Taylor admitted that this encounter changed how she looks at cops. She confessed that she used to fear cops because of what she heard about police officers hurting teenagers however this gives her new hope about the police officers in our country.

"She gave me a hug and she was like, 'What's your name?' and she was smiling," Aaliya said in NBC Washington news. "I was like, 'Oh yeah, we need more cops like you... I didn't even know cops could be that fun," Taylor added.

The unnamed police officer received praises both from the District police office, the Mayor and even US President Barrack Obama's twitter account caught up to this news, as shown in the NY Daily news.

Indeed we need more of these police officers and this just shows that there are different ways that we can encourage and give hope to the people that we encounter every day.

Since the video was posted, Taylor and the unnamed officer was contacted by a dance company who wants to record a new video of her and the police officer, according to ABC News.
