Billy Ray Cyrus Regrets Bringing Miley to Hollywood: 'I'd Take It Back in a Second'

Miley Cyrus certainly made 'history' through her latest music video "Twerking Balls" that showed her naked and licking a sledgehammer and her Aug. 25 performance on MTV's VMA, twerking alongside Robin Thicke while making suggestive gestures with a foam finger.

The "Twerking Balls" music video broke Vevo's 24-hour record at 19.3 million views on Youtube, but continued to soar past 100 million views just a week after its release on September 9, 2013. In addition, her performance at VMA sparked a Twitter frenzy of 306,000 tweets per minute, according to Hollywood Reporter.

However, many are probably wondering what has happened to cause the former Disney actress who starred in the popular "Hannah Montana Show," and a Baptist Christian who took to wearing a purity ring as a sign of her Christian faith to change for the worse and lose her identity in Christ.

In 2008, Cyrus, who was just 15-year-old then, but already a multi-millionaire, told Fox News in an interview that it is her faith that keeps her "grounded" and affirmed her desire to follow Jesus. "Live like Christ and He'll live in you, and that's what I want to do," she said.

But just after five years, her behaviors and music directions starkly contrasted her Christian upbringing from the Tennessee countryside. Her father Billy Ray Cyrus, a country music singer, said in an interview with GQ Magazine in March 2011 that he regretted enlisting her then-teenage girl in the "Hannah Montana Show" and also admitted to having made grave errors as parent.

"It (Hannah Montana) destroyed my family. I'd take it back in a second" he said. "For my family to be here and just be everybody okay, safe and sound and happy and normal, would have been fantastic. Heck, yea. I'd erase it all in a second if I could."

Billy Cyrus confessed that the entire family got baptized and were wary of the temptations lurking within the entertainment industry prior to going to Los Angeles.

"Somewhere along this journey, both mine and Miley's faith has been shaken," he said. "That saddens me the most." He declared there is "no doubt" that his family is being ruined by Satan.

Grace Vuoto, founder of the Edmund Burke Institute of American Renewal, explained the cause of this downfall as a result of the Hollywood elite telling children to disregard their parents, which inadvertently separates them from Christ. "Parents have the primary duty to leading their children and keeping them in faith. When the authority of parents is constantly undermined, then the link between the child and Christianity is also severed," she wrote.

Vuoto wrote that Mr. Cyrus had also participated in undermining parental authority on "Hannah Montana Show," where he starred as Montana's father-manager Robby Stewart, who was usually led by his daughter to see the more progressive point the parent had missed and was usually the butt of jokes. She said these themes undermined the natural family order, and sends out the message: don't listen to your parents because you know better than they do.

About five years since the family left Tennessee, Cyrus' risqué behaviors on stage and in her recent music videos provoked widespread complaints and contempts. In response, she shrugged off any nay-says and said she was just intending to "set history" as Madonna and Britney Spears have done, and that viewers are simply "overthinking it," according to Hollywood Reporter.

Meanwhile, Cyrus and her fiancé, Liam Hemsworth, who allegedly cheated on her, have called off their engagement, according to People Magazine that broke the news on Monday. Representatives of each later confirmed with ABC News. In addition, her parents are ending their 20-year marriage. Although these events surrounding her life may cause one to pity her and overlook her promiscuous and over-the-board behaviors, she has negatively impacted the youths in this nation.

Because of her former role as Disney's Hannah Montana from 2006-2011, she was a popular role model that many youths looked up to. How will youths today perceive and react to her promiscuous behaviors and music videos? Will youths have the wisdom to discern such a behavior only leads to further emptiness and abject depravity?

Billy Cyrus told GQ that he is afraid that his daughter might be going down the same road as Kurt Cobain, Michael Jackson and Anna Nicole Smith.

Sadie Robertson, another teenage female celebrity who along with her family became famous after their reality television show "Duck Dynasty" shattered several ratings records on both A&E and cable television as a whole, is determined to uphold her Christian faith in speech and actions.

During New York Fashion Week, where Robertson was walking the runway for Sherri Hill fashion show, her whole family who are all unashamedly Christian came out to support her. The Robertson family has become a role model that showed fame and success can be achieved without abandoning their Christian faith or lowering their standards just to appeal to the never-ending appetite of Hollywood and the world for lewdness.

"My family has been praying for her (Miley Cyrus') family," Sadie Robertson told FOX411. "We feel very bad for her because we know how entertainment can get wrapped up in your head. We try to stay strong as a family. We just pray that their family comes back together."

Meanwhile, Duck Dynasty teen, who has recently started a weekly devotional and modesty clothing line with designer Sherri Hill, said, "I would never twerk in public. It's not modest to me but for the girls out there that do, it's their decision."
