Christian actress Candace Cameron Bure has said that while the current presidential election is a "shame" and an "embarrassment" to the United States, her faith is in Jesus Christ - not in any earthly ruler.

"I'm not a political expert, but I'm an American, and I hold conservative values," she said during a recent appearance on Fox & Friends. "I think at the end of the day, I realize I put my faith in Jesus Christ, not in any one person, and whoever becomes our candidate, our nominee and eventually our president, I will pray for them and support that they will make the best decisions for our country that they can."

Bure added that even if Americans "aren't satisfied" with either major party candidate, it's still their duty to vote.

"I don't know who I'm going to vote for at this point, I honestly don't," she admitted. "But, I will pray about the decision of who I'll vote for...I'm really looking at everyone this year...The way this election is coming down between both candidates is embarrassing for our country. A lot of people just can't help but laugh and feel sorry, but it's a shame because we have such an incredible country... It's just hard to watch. Anyone's guess is as good as mine."

The "Fuller House" actress also weighed in on the now-infamous Access Hollywood tape in which Republican candidate Donald Trump discussed women in a lewd manner during a conversation with TV host Billy Bush.

"It was disheartening to hear the tapes," she said."My husband is a professional athlete, and I've been in locker rooms before. I can't say the talk was exactly like that but... I think anyone who says they've never heard inappropriate talk would be lying to themselves."

"The View" co-host went on to express sympathy for fellow TV host Bush: "... He has been nothing but so kind and so pleasant every time I was on his show. He has always been such a wonderful person to me, so it's hard to watch him go through this."

Meanwhile, amid this volatile election season, Bure has encouraged Christians to participate in "Revive Us," a national family meeting hosted by her brother, Kirk Cameron, that will air live in 700 movie theaters on October 18th.

The one-of-a-kind event will feature Dr. Ben Carson, author Eric Metaxas, pastors Francis Chan and Dr. James MacDonald, best-selling author Jennifer Rothschild, and musical performances by Vertical Church Band and the duo Abby Ward and Isabella Cameron.

"'Revive Us' is about reviving the heart and soul of our country," Cameron told The Gospel Herald. "It is a time for thousands of believers to gather in movie theaters all over the nation to worship, to pray together, and to learn how to revive our nation from the inside out and the bottom all the way up to the top."

He continued, "Gather the children and grandchildren, the whole family is getting together. We need to be doing our part to bring about revival, first in our hearts, then in our homes, our churches, and finally, our nation."
