The Cleveland Cavaliers have been actively seeking ways to build a team that could potentially ease the minutes spent by LeBron James in the hardwood. In the previous NBA season, the Cleveland Cavaliers failed to give sufficient rest time to their star player - a move that many basketball fans believe to be one of the main causes for the victory of the Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry's NBA MVP award.

With Tristan Thompson still uncommitted to the Cleveland Cavaliers this NBA season, it looks like the team will have to look for other stars to serve as LeBron James' second in command. It could be recalled that Tristan Thompson was shoved into the spotlight following the injury of Kevin Love in the previous NBA season.

Love's value in the Cleveland Cavaliers roster notably rose when fans and followers of the NBA team realized his potential as an important support system of LeBron James. However, the return of Kevin Love this NBA season might just have diminished the value of Tristan Thompson in the Cleveland Cavaliers roster. In addition, the rumored comeback of Kyrie Irving will definitely bolster the chances of the Cleveland Cavaliers this season.

Despite the uncertainty of Kyrie Irving's return, it looks like the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking forward to seeing Kevin Love show off his chops this NBA season - especially with his abysmal performance in the past, where fans saw him sidelined throughout the matches.

"James needs Irving from April on," noted Ken Berger of CBS Sports. The sports analyst added, "In the meantime, maybe the silver lining for the Cavs will be that Love finally gets a chance to get comfortable and experience what it's like to be LeBron's wingman. If that's the end result, then Irving's longer absence won't be a setback for the Cavs; it'll be a blessing."

With these in mind, it looks like the demand for someone like Tristan Thompson may no longer be relevant. As the backup for the NBA star who is now up and running - not to mention raring to prove his worth, the Cleveland Cavaliers may not see the value of paying big bucks to keep the Canadian basketball star. In fact, even LeBron James himself appears to have moved on from his demand to keep Tristan Thompson in the Cleveland Cavaliers roster at all costs.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers failed to entice Norris Cole to sign with the NBA team this season. Earlier reports claimed that LeBron James and the group are eager to see the New Orleans Pelicans star in the Cleveland Cavaliers locker room. However, sources close to the matter disclosed that Norris Cole opted to re-sign with the New Orleans Pelicans this NBA season, according to Sports Net.
