Jinger Duggar-Vuolo is feeling the pressure of expanding her family after her sisters have continuously asked her if she is ready to become a mother. In November 2016, Jinger tied the knot with now-husband Jeremy Vuolo with almost 1,000 guests in attendance during their wedding in Arkansas. Since then, the “Counting On” star has moved to Laredo, Texas where her husband is actively involved in ministry.
“Married life has been the best thing ever,” Jinger shares in a teaser trailer of the new “Counting On” season from People. “You look amazing,” she tells her Jeremy as he completes a set of pushups on the floor. While the newlywed couple is still in the learning process and is adjusting to the married life, Jinger’s sisters, including Jill Duggar-Dillard, Jessa Duggar-Seewald, Joy-Anna Duggar, and Jana Duggar, are excited to know whether a baby is on the way.
“So are you pregnant?” Jill asks her younger sister through a video chat in Arkansas.
“Huh?” Jinger reacts to her sister’s question with a smile.
“It is very possible that Jinger could be expecting,” Joy-Anna suggests; during the video chat, she also asks about the possibility of her sister being pregnant. “Have you taken a test?”
Jinger Duggar reportedly brought on anticipation among fans over an alleged baby registry on Buy Buy baby’s website. According to In Touch, fans believed they found Jinger’s baby registry on the said website, reportedly reading December 16, 2017 as the due date for a baby girl. The alleged entry has already been deleted.
Meanwhile, a possible pregnancy has not been the only issue that has surrounded Jinger Duggar. In the past weeks, she also drew flak for seemingly overlooking the Duggar family’s rules since she got married, including a significant change in her fashion choices. Although changes often take place after tying the knot, it was a surprise for many Duggar fans when Jinger took on a different style approach. The Duggars are widely recognized for their traditionalist approach to dressing up, especially for their female family members.
When it comes to choosing clothes, their girls follow a conservative dress code with which they are not allowed to wear pants. Rather, they are required to wear skirts and dresses. The Duggars reportedly believe the Bible’s rules state that women should be completely covered up starting from the neck down to the knee, hence the restriction of pants.
Fans were then overwhelmed after Jinger’s official Instagram account quickly began to fill up with images of her wearing pants. Such circumstances have then brought on online debates about the Duggar family’s choices in life plus their use of social media.
“Women who wear skirts and dresses are brainwashed from a young age,” one fan commented while adding: That’s why Jinger isn’t wearing [skirts and dresses] anymore… Because she’s out of that house and away from the abuse and control.” On the other hand, some fans also believed that a person’s decision to wear pants will depend on the individual. “It’s a matter of the conscience of the believer, if wearing pants bothers your conscience, you shouldn’t do it, but you shouldn’t put anyone down who does,” another fan of the Duggars pointed out.
As for Jinger’s husband Jeremy, he opened up about the issue in one his recent sermons, suggesting his disagreement with his in-laws.
“It is your liberty as to whether you dress modestly with a modest pair of pants, or with a skirt, or with a T-shirt, or with a blouse,” Jeremy preached.
The “Counting On” season 3 episodes are expected to focus on the birth of Jessa and husband Ben Seewald’s second baby, Henry Wilberforce. Their brother Joseph Duggar will also be featured as he comes into a courtship with Kendra Caldwell.
Jill’s return to Central America with husband Derick Dillard and son Israel will be included as well in the new season of “Counting On,” before they are set to return to the U.S. to give birth to their second child in July. When the series makes a comeback, fans will also get to see Austin Forsyth’s proposal to Joy-Anna.
“Counting On” season 3 will make a premiere on June 12, Monday, at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
