After Tony Romo released a statement to accept Dak Prescott as the Dallas Cowboys' new starting quarterback, trade rumors have started to swirl around the athlete. And, even though the Cowboys are keen on keeping Romo, there are several teams out there that would benefit from having him as a quarterback.

Kansas City Chiefs

Currently, leading Kansas City's squad is starting quarterback Alex Smith. This team has been doing quite well this season. But, as pointed out by Heavy, they can do a lot better with Romo at the helm.

This, of course, doesn't mean that Smith is an ineffective quarterback. He has already shown what he can do on the field through the number of games the Chiefs have won so far this season. But, putting Romo in the starting spot could make the Chiefs' offense stronger. For one, if Romo gets traded to Kansas City, then he will have the likes of Tyreke Hill, Travis Kelce and Jeremy Maclin receiving his passes.

New York Jets

Another team that Romo should consider joining is the New York franchise. Over the years, the Jets did not have a shortage of talented quarterbacks leading the pack. However, despite their own talents, many of them have failed in leading a strong offense for the Jets. This is where Romo's veteran experience and leadership could come in.

Under Romo's direction, the Jets' offensive line will have several options, especially since Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker are in the lineup.
Also, trading for Romo for the 2017 season would be a smart move for the Jets especially now that they're having problems sticking with a proper starting QB. Just look at the team's situation with Ryan Fitzpatrick, Geno Smith, and Bryce Petty.

Denver Broncos

Finally, one of the teams where Romo will certainly do well is in Denver. For one, many are already ruling out Romo in the NFL because of his age. On the contrary, it seems this is what the Broncos prefer in their quarterback.

As shown through the actions of general manager John Elway, the Broncos have consistently done well with a veteran quarterback. During the time of Peyton Manning, he was able to lead the team to two Super Bowl appearances. Romo could do the same next season.

Although these teams will certainly do well under Romo's leadership, they will have to go through the Cowboys first if they want to trade for him. As noted by Yahoo! Sports, team owner Jerry Jones has no plans of parting ways with Romo yet. In fact, he believes that quarterback will stay with the team for five more years.
