Dancing with the Stars (DWTS) will return to ABC with a March 16th Premiere Date, and there has been much speculation of the cast for Season 20. Considering that there are rumors of Russell Wilson, Roseanne Barr, and even Jack Nicholson treading onto the dancing floor, it could be a very star-studded season.
Earlier we reported that Russell Wilson might be joining the cast of 2015's Season 20 of Dancing With the Stars. This was based on an Instagram posting on Dancing With the Stars professional dance Karina Smirnoff that read: "So....calling out @dangerusswilson "if I win this year's #SuperBowl, I'll do next season of @dancingabc #DWTS" ~R.Wilson. Ok-Should we hold him to it?!?!" Smirnoff captioned in a photo of the two of them.
By now, it is well-known that Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks did not win the Super Bowl, and it didn't appear that there was any contract between DWTS and the famed quarterback, who famously took home last year's Super Bowl XLVIII trophy.
Russell Wilson has actually been cordially invited to be on Dancing with the Stars, as he reported to ESPN. Wilson has declined not just once, but twice, acknowledging that he is a fan of the show but declined due to pursuing his football career. If Wilson does compete, he will join the ranks of other NFL players that have been fan favorites on the show, including Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward, and Donald Driver.
This leads to the question of who will be competing in Dancing With the Stars Season 20. According to Wet Paint, the Dancing with the Stars showrunner Rob Wade has stated that he was a cast the "pops", so don't be surprised if you see some very big names in Season 20.
One of them could be Roseanne Barr, who tweeted that she wanted to be on Dancing with the Stars, which would imply that she was asked. The biggest surprise could be Jack Nicholson, who actually called back and said that he loves the show, but "he'll think about it". It would be quite something he Jack were to appear on the show, and the 77-year-old star is slated to appear on Saturday Night Live's 40th anniversary special in mid-February on NBC.
We have previously reported some possibilities with teen heartthrob Ross Lynch as well as the current bachelor of ABC's sister show to Dancing with the Stars, The Bachelor. The rumors of the Dancing with the Stars cast really heats up in mid-February, and it isn't like to see the formal announcement until usually after The Bachelor's Final Rose Ceremony, which isn't set to take place until March 9th.
Dancing with the Stars is set to have its premiere Season 20 episode on Monday, March 16 at 8p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Currently, the stars of Dancing with the Stars (the dancers, and not the celebrities) are involved in a tour known as DWTS Live, which will conclude on February 15th. Joining the dancers is the winner for Season 19, Alfonso Ribeiro.
