The hit Dark Souls game franchise is going to have a third offering from its publisher Bandai-Namco with Dark Souls III in a about a month or so, but the company has released an application to tide its fans over with Slashy Souls.  While that application may or may not be worth playing for the price it is for, Bandai -Namco is also planning on releasing another hit game this summer with Necropolis

As the release date for Dark Souls III steadily approaches, Bandai Namco has released a new mobile game known as Slashy Souls.  The game is available for free on iOS and Android devices, and it is an autorunner that requires a lot of demand on accuracy and timing as the rest of the Dark Souls series, according to The Escapist Magazine

Slashy Souls involves the player taking a knight that is trying to outrun a dark fog, avoiding traps, and fighting with monsters.  A swipe on the screen allows the player to jump or roll, and tapping allows for an attack.

So far, the Slashy Souls game hasn't been getting good reviews, scoring a 2.5 average on Google Play, which matches the same rating on the iTunes Store.  There is another property from Bandai Namco that is promising to be a hit with Necropolis

Necropolis, according to Engadget, is a stylish, hardcore dungeon-diving game from Harebrained Schemes, who also did Shadowrun Returns.  Originally, Necropolis was due to be released on the PC and Mac on March 17th, but when Bandai Namco got themselves involved, that changed.

Necropolis is now due for a release date sometime in the summer on the PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.  The game has players with just one life to defeat hordes of terrible monsters in an ever-changing procedurally generated dungeon.  There is some crafting in a four-player drop-in co-op, with a unique art style.

According to the Dark Souls III news highlights website, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe is creating three exclusive editions available for its available platforms on the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 4.  Dark Souls III will be released on March 24, 2016, but only in Japan.  It will then arrive worldwide on April 12, 2016.

The Apocalypse edition of Dark Souls III is only available for pre-orders only, and it comes with the game, a metal case, and the official soundtrack on CD.  The Collector's Edition has the game, a Red Knight figurine, an A4 Dark Souls Trilogy hardcover artbook, metal case, the official soundtrack on CD, 3 Iron-on patches, a cloth game map, and an exclusive box.  The Prestige Edition comes with the game, a number 40 centimeter Lord of Cinder hand-painted polystone resin figurine, a Red Knight figurine, an A4 Dark Souls trilogy hardcover artbook, metal case, the official soundtrack on CD, 3 iron-on patches, a cloth game map, and an exclusive display case.
