Fury makes a return in Darksiders III
Darksiders III has just been announced, but do not go looking for it on store shelves just yet. It will only be released in 2018. THQ Nordic

THQ Nordic stepped forward with an announcement earlier this week for a brand new title that will appeal to those who would like to indulge in a bit of hack and slash action, with the adventure title known as Darksiders III. Darksiders III is being developed for the PC platform, in addition to the Sony PS4 and Xbox One consoles as well. However, if you would like to enjoy what Darksiders III brings to the table, then you would have to be a little bit more patient as the release date for this highly anticipated game has been set in 2018. Having said that, no concrete release date has been revealed just yet, so it would be a good idea to be patient and have the worst case scenario floating around -- December 2018 as the release date, and anything earlier would seem to be a bonus.

Darksiders III will see the story arc pan out this way: Gamers will find themselves thrust right into an apocalyptic planet Earth setting, where this hack-n-slash action adventure will see you play the role of Fury. Fury lives up to her name for sure, as she works on hunting down and getting rid of the Seven Deadly Sins. The Charred Council has called upon Fury yet again to go up against these Seven Deadly Sins, working her way all from the very heights of heaven, straight down into the pits of hell. Her mission? To bring humanity to where it is supposed to be, while proving herself to be most powerful among the Horsemen. Since Fury is a mage, she will fall back on her whip and magic so that the balance between good and evil is restored. This is starting to sound like a more religious version of Wonder Woman!

The Darksiders III game world will be an expansive one, where it is presented as an open-ended, living, free-form planet Earth that is rotting away through the twin terrors of war and decay, while nature goes wild. Fury will have to make herself available between the different environments as the story evolves while uncovering new secrets that will aid her in her quest. Sounds like a great follow up to the first two titles!

Lars Wingefors, Co-Founder and Group CEO, THQ Nordic AB, shared, “As promised, we have taken our time to ensure that this next Darksiders will be everything action-adventure gamers and especially Darksiders loyalists could dream of and more.”

Apart from that, THQ Nordic did make an announcement that it will be collaborating with the team at Gunfire Games, which will be mostly made up of the original creators of the Darksiders franchise, concerning the development of the long and highly-anticipated project.

Reinhard Pollice, Director of Business and Product Development, THQ Nordic, put in his two cents on the matter, “The Gunfire team brings an intimate involvement with every aspect of the Darksiders franchise since its inception. There is simply no team better qualified to create Darksiders III, beginning with our unpredictable and enigmatic hero FURY – a mage who is considered the most powerful of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse!”
