It looks like Destiny 2 is about to see a boost in its gamer base, with the announcement that this title will also make its debut on the PC platform -- while the Xbox One and PS4 versions have been confirmed already. Not only that, to make sure that real fans of the game might want to pick up something that is more memorable than just a regular game case, there is the Destiny 2 Collector’s Edition to consider when it comes to your next game purchase.

Bungie has already revealed the game’s trailer, and now, official details about Destiny 2 continue to trickle out to tickle the ears of the faithful. An open beta of Destiny’s 2 has been confirmed to make its way to a slew of platforms sometime this summer, but those who have already placed a pre-order will gain a head start since they would be first in line to receive it. September 8 is the official launch date of Destiny 2, so PC gamers, Xbox One and PS4 owners might want to take note of that date in their respective calendars.

Do take note that the trailer featured today does not sport any kind of gameplay at all, but we ought to be able to see more in a livestream that is being scheduled for a May 18 release. The faithful companion, Ghost, was also strikingly absent from the trailer, but fans of the franchise need not fret. Voice actor Nolan Northhas has confirmed that he will be making a return in Destiny 2.

Bungie has best described Destiny 2 as follows.

Humanity's last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion. He has stripped the city's Guardians of their power, and forced the survivors to flee. You will venture to mysterious, unexplored worlds of our solar system to discover an arsenal of weapons and devastating new combat abilities. To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, you must reunite humanity's scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim our home.

Destiny 2 will feature a season pass that is known as the Expansion Pass. This Expansion Pass will include "Expansion I and Expansion II, offering brand new story missions, cooperative activities, competitive multiplayer, and a wealth of new weapons, armor, and gear."

Competitive multiplayer as well as not competitive multiplayer maps will be thrown into the mix, but one question that many people are asking that remains unanswered is this. Will Crucible be part of the base game? Only time will be able to tell, and hopefully the folks at Activision will be able to shed more light on the situation.

As for the number of Destiny 2 special editions, you will be spoilt for choice. The Digital Deluxe Edition will feature a Legendary sword, emote, and Cabal-themed emblem, while the Limited Edition boasts of the game itself, a steelbook case, an Expansion Pass, and different kinds of physical and digital bonuses. Last but not least, the Collector's Edition will come with all of the mentioned, in addition to even more physical bonuses such as a messenger bag/backpack combo as well as a solar-powered USB charger -- you know, just in case you find yourself in a tricky situation when outdoors.
