'Duck Dynasty' Star Sadie Robertson Reveals the Inspirational Story Behind Her New Tattoo: 'It Was Daddy Approved'

"Duck Dynasty" star Sadie Robertson recently revealed her new tattoo - the word "Fearless" inked across her forearm - and shared the inspirational story behind it.

Taking to her Instagram page last week, the 18-year-old author and model admitted that she understands that "tattoos are not for everyone," but explained that her decision to get a tattoo stemmed from a pivotal moment in her life.

"For every summer camp I went to throughout my life I wrote down the word 'anxiety' for my biggest struggle," Robertson wrote. "Fear began to consume me. This year, I made a turn around when I went to my Lord and savior who has conquered all fears."

While attending a Christian conference this year, Robertson said she was able to conquer fear in her life and gained courage and a "new confidence". The experience fundamentally changed her, as she felt the anxiety that had previously overwhelmed her completely melt away.

"I had people come up to me and tell me these words: 'Sadie you are fearless,' which was something so new to hear, considering I am the one who has always struggled with FEAR!" she said. "I decided, 'That's enough. I am a fearless child of God. I will not fear, because I serve the God who has conquered all fear.'"

The "Live Original" author explained that every time she looks at her tattoo, she is reminded to place her faith in Jesus Christ.

"I'm proud to permanently have a reminder that I have nothing to fear," she wrote. "I am fearless in the name of Jesus."

The teen also clarified that she received input from her father, Willie Robertson, before permanently inking herself: "This was daddy approved," she wrote.

Robertson concluded her message with a reference to Ephesians 6:19-20, which reads, "Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,  for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should."

As previously reported by the Gospel Herald, Robertson has emerged as a star in her own right over the past two years. In addition to participating in "Dancing With the Stars" last year, she has released a book, a clothing line, and will soon appear in "I'm Not Ashamed", a forthcoming film about the 1999 Columbine school shooting.

Despite her tremendous success, Robertson said her strong Christian faith allows her to stay humble and grounded.

"I think people use fame as an excuse to lose their faith," Willie and Korie's daughter told FOX411 in 2014. "Faith is obviously my number one priority and I think you need to put God at the top of everything you do."
