Fallout 4 has been an unsurprising hit for the fanbase, and it should come as no surprise that it will have some downloadable content (DLC). March 22 was the release date for Automatron, the first of three DLC for the hit game, and it is available on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC for $10 as a stand-alone or free with the Season Pass. Automatron gives the player the ability to mod and collect all manner of mechanical robots to follow the player around. There is also a plot that involves a new villain known as "The Mechanist", who is derived from the Silver Shroud, a fictional radio villain from the main game. The Mechanist is a typical villain attempting to build an army of evil robots, and it is up to the player to hunt them down. Fortunately, the player can mod robot partners from the robots that you defeat, and can add, change, and modify your partners down to the voice and paint color, according to N4BB.
In fact, there are some Easter Eggs available for anyone who brings the Silver Shroud armor into the DLC. According to Forbes, the Silver Shroud questline was one of the best from the original game, as it allowed players to reenact the violent justice of the radio villain from a devoted fan who gets wound up in an old pulp story. When the player wears the Silver Shroud armor, they can speak the hammy dialogue with the same mannerisms and growl.
Before downloading the expansion pack, there are some things to keep in mind, according to Twinfinite. This expansion was built for players who are level 15 and above. New players might find Automatron difficult, and it is suggested that players do quests in the Data tab of the Pip-Boy to level up as soon as possible. Considering all the robots in Automatron, it is also recommended to use energy and pulse weapons, and leave radiation weapons behind as they are useless to robots.
To build robots, you are going to need parts like steel, wiring, targeting chips, and other pieces that you can hunt down, so keep an eye out for things like that. You will also want to get your hands on some useful Perks like Codsworth (Robot Sympathy), +10 damage resistance against robot energy weapons; X6-88 (Shield Harmonics), +20 damage resistance vs. energy; and Deacon (Cloak and Dagger), +20% sneak attack damage and duration of Stealth Boys are increased by +40%.
If you like Automatron, then the next DLC to arrive is Wasteland Workshop, giving the player the ability to create traps and cages for the live creatures in the wasteland. Wasteland Workshop will cost $5, but the last DLC of Far Harbor will cost $25. Far Harbor is a new quest in a new area known that will be available in May.
