The Fast and Furious movie franchise might be full of adrenaline and horsepower underneath the hood, but in reality, it has the mileage of a hybrid vehicle that purrs along for an endless amount of miles on a single idea before it grinds to a halt. Who would have thought that Universal’s movie franchise would have been able to last 8 movies, and does not show any signs of slowing down or stopping? The Fate Of The Furious actually achieved the new record of being the highest-grossing opening of all time, having picked up a worldwide total of $1.215 billion at present time. Of course, that is a few meters behind Furious 7's haul of $1.516 billion, but having grossed more than a billion is always a success in any movie studio’s books. Hence, it is a no-brainer to take the risk that the Fast and Furious franchise still has some threads left in its wheels, and hence the possibility of a Fast and Furious 9 ranks higher than Donald Trump winning the Presidency when he ran for the US’ top public office.

The story arc would definitely get more insane and twisted as the franchise moves into perhaps its fifth and final gear in due time. While Universal wanted to paint The Fate Of The Furious as the first in a new trilogy of films, just how over the top can you get in subsequent movies? For instance, we have seen cars dropping out from aeroplanes, cars jumping from one building to a different floor in another building, cars waltzing their way over thin ice with a submarine chasing them, cars avoiding torpedoes, what’s next? Going to space? How about a hybrid car from the James Bond era that can actually transform into a boat? A crossover with the Transformers franchise that will see even more explosions, and cool robot cars that will be able to save the world? Who knows, really? What is certain is the fact that Universal Pictures also announced a spin-off film that will boast a pair of the most beloved characters from the series.

Fast and Furious 9 details: Han Lue’s return
Here is a blank sheet of paper, and feel free to fill it up as your imagination takes you. Frankly speaking, it is all on the drawing board at the moment, and with audience still not experiencing any kind of fast cars fatigue on the silver screen, perhaps it is time to experiment with something different. However, not involving cars would take away the soul of the film, or has the franchise actually made the jump that the audience no longer cares about what exotic locations and vehicles that are showcased, but rather, more concerned about the lives of the characters themselves? With everyone looking as though they had gotten on swimmingly in the end of The Fate of the Furious, what proverbial spanner will be thrown in the works?

The return of Han Lue could provide a welcome twist to the story, despite him being portrayed to have been murdered by Deckard in The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift. Screenwriter Chris Morgan and producer Neal Moritz did confirm that Sung Kang will reprise his role as Han in the upcoming installment, and whether it is just a flashback or he miraculously made it out alive is something that will surely keep fans buzzing. Expect the Fast and Furious 9 to be released on April 19, 2019.

Fast & Furious 10: Whaaaaat?
Yes, what about Fast and Furious 10? It would certainly be the final piece in the new trilogy for the series, and it would most probably deal with emotions and relationships. It’s all about family at the end of the day, and we are sure that when April 2, 2021 rolls around, we would know what to expect. Just don’t expect a trip to space, where they meet up with a human-like droid that leads them to their death as xenomorphs take over the steering wheel.
