Square Enix is going to have its hands full once they hit the release date for their biggest gaming intellectual properties of Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 15. These popular games have a deep history and huge fanbase, and there has been some news about the voice acting of Kingdom Hearts 3 while Final Fantasy 15 news could be happening quite soon.
One of the big news this week is that there will be two returning characters to Kingdom Hearts 3, according to Design and Trend. One of them is Steve Burton, who is known for playing Cloud Strife, a Final Fantasy VII icon that will be involved in Kingdom Hearts 3.
In fact, it looks like Cloud will have a role in the game, and the last time the character was seen in the Kingdom Hearts gaming franchise was when he was battling his darkness, and Sephiroth, in the Dark Depths. It is not known what became of that fight, so perhaps Kingdom Hearts 3 will answer that question. There have been reports that Kingdom Hearts 3 will end the story arc, but not the game series completely.
For those who are unfamiliar with Kingdom Hearts, it is about the journey of Sora through a magical land with occasional visits from licensed characters from the Final Fantasy series. Since Square Enix owns the rights to both of these mega-gaming franchises, it stands to reason that there will be crossover.
In addition to Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts 3 also uses a lot of Disney characters. Over a year ago, it was discovered that Bil Farmer, the voice of Goofy, was brought in for voice acting, and Farmer has commented that he doesn't know why it is taking so long. The last time that Goofy was seen within the game was when he was separated from protagonist's Sora final boss battle with the Xemnas at the end of Kingdom Hearts 2. Surely, the fate of Goofy will be discovered in Kingdom Hearts 3.
As far as the release date for Kingdom Hearts 3 goes, it is considered for 2017. This is one of those games that are long overdue in terms of years, just like Final Fantasy 15. However, there are some rumors on IGN saying that Final Fantasy 15 could be showing up on Friday, September 30, 2016.
This is not any confirmation, but The Bit Bag reports that Square Enix will reportedly release new information about Final Fantasy 15 twice a week, and that started at the beginning of this month. This information will come in the form of a blog, and one written in Japanese, but it will give updates on Tuesday and Friday.
Then there is going to be a Final Fantasy big event which is happening on March 30, where Square Enix will host an event that will most likely announce the release date. Those that want to livestream or watch the event online can do so through Square Enix YouTube and Twitch channels.
