Square Enix is one company that is planning on releasing two big games sometime next year, assuming that there isn't yet another delay. Both of these games, Final Fantasy 15 and Kingdom Hearts 3, are ones that have a huge following, very well-developed mythology, in-depth characters, as well as a history of not being released. There is some more recent news of a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3 as well as some new screenshots and artwork for Final Fantasy 15.
There is good news for those who have wanted to see some more game footage from Kingdom Hearts 3. According to Gematsu, Square Enix just showcased the latest trailers for Kingdom Hearts 3 as well as Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue at the D23 Expo Japan Kingdom Hearts Premium Theater event today. These trailers were not available to post at this writing, but they will be available online soon.
The new trailer showcased a new Heartless and Noboday, as well as a new Attraction Flow attack based on Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. It also has more footage from a chess game between young Xehanort and young Eraqus from the previous trailer.
It is fitting that the new trailers are announced at a D23 Expo Japan, as it was in August at the D23 Expo California where it was announced that Big Hero 6 was confirmed to be one of the new worlds added. The events in Kingdom Hearts 3 will take place after the events shown in Big Hero 6. Hiro and Baymax will be there along with the assembled team, and the world of Tangled is also scheduled to appear in Kingdom Hearts 3. There have also been rumors that the worlds of Frozen, Toy Story, Wreck-it Ralph, and The Jungle Book will show up in the game, according to the Venture Capital Post.
Realty Today reported that players of Kingdom Hearts 3 could get a multiplayer mode. The rumors of this have persisted since a Square Enix game designer from Osaka updated a LinkedIn page, stating that his key responsibilities for Kingdom Hearts 3 was for "multiplayer planning and documentation".
We'll see if those Kingdom Hearts 3 rumors are true, as for news on the Final Fantasy 15 front, there has been some developments of concept art and screenshots, according to the International Business News.
There is a new enemy in development known as Numb Blade, a Japanese samurai with a creepy face that resembles a mask. Numb Blade is a ronin, which means he has no master to serve, and he wears a kimono and has a huge sword. There is also a new monster known as a Naga, a snake-like creature with human head and hair.
The screenshot features Noctis, who will be the lead character in this iteration of the game, riding some yellow Chocobos with his friends. Unlike the fear-inspiring Numb Blade and Naga, Noctis riding the birds comes off as a little bit comical.
Both Kingdom Hearts 3 and Final Fantasy 15 will be out next year for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, but there still is no confirmed release dates for each.
