Full House is a piece of late eighties/early nineties nostalgia that lasted for 8 seasons on ABC. The show was a family friendly comedy that will now have a "twenty years later" follow-up with Fuller House, which will run on Netflix. This is what is known about the Fuller House Release Date, Cast, and some spoilers, and one of them could be the Olsen twins returning.
According to E Online, the original premise of Fuller House begins with tragedy, as Candance Cameron Bure's character, DJ Tanner-Fuller, has found herself a widow and expecting her third child. It was eventually decided that this would be too heavy a beginning, so it was decided to allow more time to pass as the widowed DJ asks her best friend Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), a new single mother, as well as her sister Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) to move in and help raise her family.
In other words, it is Full House all over again, but the main characters are women instead of men. Of course, these main characters from the original Full House will be back, which includes Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Lori Loughlin, and John Stamos. Even Blake Tuomy-Wilhoit and Dylan Tumoy Wilhoit, who played the twins (Alex and Nicky) from the original show will have an appearance.
As for the other twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, they may or may not show up. Ted Sarandos, Netflix's streaming content officer, revealed that the twins "are teetering on whether or not they'll be around", according to TV Line.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were twins who played the same character, Michelle Tanner. It is a trick in Hollywood to cast twins to play a younger role, so when one kid is upset or can't do a scene, they can always put the twin in the scene and the viewers are none the wiser. The two twins were credited as "Mary-Kate Ashley Olsen" on Full House, and they only appeared together on screen in one episode, which was the final episode.
A Fuller House executive producer, Robert L. Boyett has had this to say about the return of the Olsen twins: "It has been exciting to see how they have built their professional careers, and I support their choice to focus on their fashion brands and various business endeavors. I appreciate their support and good wishes towards Fuller House."
Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of fan-generated campaign arises in order to bring back Mary-Kate and Ashley. Many of the fans of Full House back in the late eighties and early nineties remember the two of them, and grew up with them. The Olsen twins managed to brand themselves with several direct-to-video movies, and they made millions from them. Considering that Full House was the beginning of their success, it almost doesn't make sense not to have them on the show in some form or the other.
However, now that the Olsen twins are adults, it really only makes sense to bring one of the actresses back. From a practical standpoint, it doesn't make sense to pay both actresses to have a part when only one is really needed. I'm also going to suggest that the Olsen twins would probably demand a high salary, and getting one of them might be tricky.
Still, this is Fuller House, sequel to Full House. Not bringing back the Olsen twins just doesn't feel right, and so I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Olsen Twins will be return, somehow. So far, there isn't an official release date for Fuller House, but they have already begun filming, so anticipate Fuller House either late this year or at the beginning of next year.
