HBO recently released the new trailer for the sixth season of the "Game of Thrones" television series. But aside from the clip, fans of the series are also getting new updates from the stars of the show.
The new trailer opens up with a shot of Kit Harrington's Jon Snow lying face down in the snow. This scene, is of course from the moment he was betrayed and left to die by his fellow Night's Watchmen. A voiceover in the trailer can then be heard saying "He's gone," according to the Vine Report.
The demise of Harrington's character in season 5 sent fans into a frenzy with many speculating that he will still return in the next episodes. Others however, have already accepted the characters death.
With rumors about the character's fate still pouring in, Harrington took it upon himself to clarify the matter. During a recent interview with the TimeOut blog, the actor confirmed that he will return to the set of "Game of Thrones" for the sixth season.
But, Harrington noted that he'll only be there to play Snow's corpse.
"Look, I'm not in the show anymore," he said during the interview. "I'm definitely not in the new series."
"I filmed some scenes of me being dead, it's some of my best work," he added jokingly.
Although Harrington said he will return but only as a corpse, he also said something that can be easily interpreted as a hint to his character coming back to life.
When asked if he knows anything about the plot of season six, he said he doesn't "have a clue." But then, he also admitted that he knows how long he will play a corpse on the show. This could mean that somehow, his character could be resurrected. Or, maybe he's just simply implying that after he's done playing a corpse, he'll depart the show completely.
Interestingly, Snow's possible resurrection might have something to do with Ian McShane, who recently announced that he will be making a guest appearance on the show. Although he did not give away the name or nature of his character, the actor noted that he will bring a presumably dead character back to life.
Almost immediately after making the revelation, fans of the series slammed McShane and accused him of giving away spoilers.
"You say the slightest thing and the Internet goes ape," he told The Telegraph," I was accused of giving the plot away, but I think, get a f****** life. [The show is] only t*** and dragons."
