Fans of George R.R. Martin's the Song of Ice and Fire book series will be pleased to know that HBO's adaption of the world of Westros with Game of Thrones will be returning this Spring for its release date. There is a lot of expectations for the show, and there will be a lot happening especially when it comes to fan-favorite characters like Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and Bran Stark.
According to CNET, there is a teaser trailer about 42 seconds long for Season 6 of the hit fantasy epic series, but it really is more of a very speedy montage of events from previous scenes. With the Three-Eyed Raven (voice by Max von Sydow) saying "we watch, we listen, and we remember".
Fans of the show and its books already know that this next season is going to focus a lot on the battle with the White Walkers. Most also know that the big question is if Jon Snow is really dead. Considering the promotional poster seen in the image, it is pretty clear that it will happen, the only question is how.
Most fans known about the red god magic that resurrected Beric Dondarrion could easily be applied to Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), and many believe it will be by Melisandre, who appeared at Castle Black hours before Jon Snow died. Adding fuel to the rumors that Jon Snow will return is Kit Harrington's real life appearances, as he has been seen at Belfast airport (close to where Game of Thrones is filmed) as Season 6 began its production.
According to The Independent, Emilia Clarke, the actress that plays Daenerys Targaryen, has stated that Game of Thrones Season 6 will not be slow, but "It's just go, go, go, go. Shocking moment to shocking moment. Epic moment to epic moment. It's mental; it's epic." Daenerys crash landed in Dothraki land beside a wounded dragon, at the end of Season 5, and Season 6 will focus on her negotiating her survival around the horse lords of the grassy seas, according to Den of Geek.
The big return is planned with Bran Stark, who is returning to Game of Thrones after a season's worth of absence. There have also been reports that Ian McShane will be joining the cast, but there is no word on what character he will play, other than it will be important.
There are reports that Season 6 will begin in April, but there isn't any exact date. There will probably an official word in January, but many are pointing to Sunday, April 3, 2016 or April 10, 2016, the next Sunday. The date of Season 6's release date might coincide with the release of one of the newest books in the series as George R.R. Martin could release his long-awaited Winds of Winter. Many say that Season 6 of Game of Thrones could premiere later as a new HBO show known as Vinyl is going to be in the show's usual Sunday timeslot starting the week of February 14th, and it has 10 episodes.
