While Maisie Williams, Liam Cunningham and Lena Headey’s characters do not often come together on ‘Game of Thrones,’ the actors reunited for a good cause after visiting Greece and its Syrian refugees.

The stars of the HBO fantasy series recently appealed to the European Union leaders to defend the 57,000 refugees stranded in Greece due to the continuing Syrian civil war.

The actors’ appeal came up after a visit to the International Rescue Committee’s operations that involved trips to the Lesbos island.

Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister on the award-winning series, had a meaningful conversation young woman from Syria while Williams, known for her feisty Arya Stark role, met with an aspiring actor at Cherso in Northern Greece.

Cunningham, whose character Ser Davos Seaworth has become even more recognized after the last few episodes of the sixth season, listened to the pleas of Afghan and Syrian fathers who shared the reasons for taking themselves out of their countries. They also expressed their sentiments on living as refugees.

Williams came up with a video in which she touched on the subject of the refugees’ difficulty in Europe.

“They're just people like you and me, and they don't want to live in a different country their whole life. They want to go home, but they can't because we've destroyed it,” the 19-year-old actress said.

The former ‘Doctor Who’ guest star also recalled how a Syrian girl’s dreams of pursuing her education have been constrained by the ongoing crisis.

"I met a 21-year-old girl who was headed for university to do amazing things in biology and now she's had all of that taken away from her, and you are worried she wants to come and take from your country. She is just a girl," Williams added.

In a statement given by Headey, the 42-year-old actress placed emphasis on refugees aiming for a normal life.

"These smart, hardworking people want to go home. They want to return to their communities and to their neighbourhoods. They want their children to continue their education. They want to continue their university and they are stuck.”

The ‘300: Rise of an Empire’ star also spoke out in support for better circumstances for the refugees, saying that the involved officials should do better for them.

Cunningham was vocal in pointing the finger towards EU leaders, explaining his viewpoint that such occurrence is simply created by members of the society.

"This is not an earthquake, this is not a tidal wave. This is a man-made crisis. 57,000 stranded in Greece. Refugee camps in Europe? Is this truly the standard EU leaders want to set as the way to respond to the global refugee crisis?” he voiced out.

The actors’ plea regarding the current conditions of Syrian refugees can be viewed below.

Meanwhile, all three actors are set to return to ‘Game of Thrones’ season 7. Premiere details are yet to be announced.

A ‘Game of Thrones’ panel at the San Diego Comic-Con 2016, which will include Cunningham, Sophie Turner, Iwan Rheon, Isaac Hempstead-Wright and many more, has been confirmed.
