How "Game of Thrones" will end is hard to predict but a lot easier is to guess major character deaths, which happen every season of the HBO fantasy-drama series. In Season 7, it's good as confirmed that beloved and hated characters will make their exit and the only question is who and how? Will Jon Snow be among the tragic losses GoT fans will witness soon?

Olenna Tyrell

The Tyrells have been nearly wiped out, no thanks to Cersei Lannister, and it will be unsurprising that the surviving member of the house, Olenna, has been marked too for elimination. Business Insider said the Tyrell matriarch is politically vulnerable going to Season 7 and for sure Cersei will jump at an opportunity to clear one of the threats that she's aware could come from all direction.

Most likely, hearts will weep anew as GoT Season 7 could mark the departure of the show's more popular figures.

Ellaria Sand and the Sand Snakes

Olenna's demise will surely trigger a domino effect and one that surely will fall is Ellaria Sand, recently previewed as a prisoner of Cersei. There is little doubt the Queen Mother knew Ellaria was responsible for the death of her princess, Myrcella, so exacting revenge will be on her mind the moment she lays eyes on her daughter's killer.

And the Sand Snakes will need to go too if Ellaria exits, which should fulfill fans clamor for Game of Thrones to do away with the Dorne storyline, Business Insider said.

Yara Greyjoy

The Game of Thrones Season 7 trailer offered a glimpse of the Yara-Ellaria steamy affair so it seems logical that if one dies the other one will follow. It's unlikely Yara will survive the attack directed on her armada, likely launched by Euron Greyjoy.

Melisandre

In Season 6, it was established why the Red Woman was on Game of Thrones - she was to resurrect Jon Snow. With that part done, it seems there's nothing left for Melisandre to do and Jon Snow even banished her. But the Red Priestess to the Lord of Light will make her mark in Season 7 likely through a dramatic death or by old age, The Telegraph said.

The Mountain

Currently the zombified Ser Robert, the Mountain is eternally on the GoT kill list but has survived six seasons so far. Things could change next season as The Telegraph said the recent HBO trailer teased Sandor Clegane "appeared to be standing in the King's Landing Dragonpit and brandishing a sword at an unseen assailant."

The latter could be Ser Robert also known as Gregor Clegane, brother and arch-enemy of Sandor aka The Hound.

Petyr Baelish

Littlefinger has caused deaths and sufferings that Season 7 will likely be payback time. The end will likely be delivered by Sansa Stark, an unlikely character but also the same that already proved she's fully capable of brutality such as when she fed Ramsay Bolton to the hounds.

Jon Snow

"When the snows fall, when the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies, but the pack survives," Sansa uttering these words in the recent trailer could be referring to the second death of Jon Snow and never to rise again, Mashable said.

But Jon Snow dying again will be a hard sell, The Telegraph, and will debunk the theory he is The Prince That Was Promised - the savior and the one to sit on the Iron Throne.

The Game of Thrones Season 7 will start airing July 16 on HBO.
