Gears of War 4 is looking to be the must-have game for Xbox One gamers, and fans cannot wait for its release date.  Fortunately, a lot of fans won't have to wait to get their Gears on as the beta test for Gears of War 4 is starting today.  If you are a fan of the series, then you might already qualified to play the beta test and just don't know it yet.  This is the latest news of the Gears of War 4 Beta Test with the Release Date.

Those that purchased the Gears of War Ultimate Edition, the Xbox One/Windows 10 remake of the first game of the series, by April 11 at 11 PM PDT essentially qualified for the beta test.  In fact, the beta test officially starts today as the companies will send out tokens to qualify for early access.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, a player has to redeem their token to be granted entry in the Gears of War 4 beta, and these tokens were sent to gamers via the Xbox Live messaging system.  Sadly, it doesn't look like the beta test will be available in China or Japan, and these codes will be sent out to users who played Gears of War: Ultimate Edition in chronological order from the date they first played.   This means that those who purchased the remake of the game first have first dibs, but the developer's goal is to have all the codes out by Thursday of this week.

For those unfamiliar with the series, it takes place in the future on a planet of Sera, colonized by humans from Earth.  Much of the series focuses on an alien race of antagonists known as the Locusts, but Gears of War will focus on a new threat.  The main character is J.D. Fenix, who is the son of Marcus Fenix, the protagonist from the previous games.  The story of Gears of War 4 is one of survival, and the game is meant to set up a new trilogy for the popular video game franchise.

Like its predecessors, Gears of War 4 will have all kinds of lethal weapons made for some serious killing.  A recent interview on Gamespot with Rob Fergusson, the head of Gears of War 4, has stated that the game will feature something that the previous games in the series will have: a gore and explicit language filter.  Fergusson admitted that there really isn't a "mature language flag", so the filter will remove the "harder swear words" and not just bleep them out.  The main reason is to protect any children listening to adults playing the game.

Gears of War 4 will be available to the Xbox on October 11, 2016 to the Xbox One, with the possibility of a PC version to be released in the near future.
