On Thursday, the nominees for the 73rd Golden Globe awards were announced at Beverly Hilton Hotel. The winners will be awarded in a live televised ceremony on January 10. For the fourth time, Ricky Gervais will host the event.
The big winners last year were The Grand Budapest Hotel and Boyhood, while Birdman won the 2015's best picture for Oscar. Most of the nominees this year were included in the last year's list, such as Steve Carell, Eddie Redmayne, and Emily Blunt.
The Golden Globes is awarded for TV/Films and voted by Critics, and the Oscars is awarded for films and voted by Film industry professionals. Golden Globes is usually considered as the less serious of the two awards ceremonies.
