The Golden State Warriors are on the verge of breaking all kinds of records in the NBA today. These include the possibility of beating the Chicago Bulls winning streak under the reign of the great Michael Jordan along with the greatest game plays ever executed in basketball. However, the main man in the remarkable run of the Golden State Warriors is none other than Stephen Curry.
The reigning NBA MVP has been the center of sports talks and analysis ever since his groundbreaking performance last season. With some fans of the basketball community doubting his capacity to become the next Jordan or Kobe Bryant, Curry has been busy proving every one of his critics wrong. In the latest game of the Golden State Warriors, the NBA was shocked at the game-winning shot of Curry that put them ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder 118-121. While Kevin Durant was remarkably impressive in the said game, it was the NBA MVP who took home the prize for the best performance in the hardwood court.
"@StephenCurry30 needs to stop it man!! He's ridiculous man! Never before seen someone like him in the history of ball!" raved LeBron James via social media following the amazing shot of Curry during the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Apart from the Cleveland Cavaliers star, Curry was also applauded by Damian Lillard. The Portland Trailblazers star said on Twitter, "That boy steph somethin else lol."
Meanwhile, Kristaps Porzingis of the New York Knicks asked this question via social media of Curry's recent performance: "Is this real life?" Even Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat has joined the MVP's fan club when he tweeted, "Curry is UNREAL!!!!"
DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors also raved about Curry as he wrote, "He can't be human." The Golden State Warriors star's skills was further praised by Rudy Gay of the Sacramento Kings who noted, "Steph curry best shooter ever."
Despite his recent performance, Curry appears to still have bashers. Some critics note that the NBA MVP will not last long in the league, saying that the three-point star will fade after the hype surrounding him stops. While Curry had been tolerant of these comments in the past, the Golden State Warriors star appears to be reaching his limit.
"It's starting to get a little annoying just because it's kind of unwarranted from across the board," said Curry, according to ESPN. The Golden State Warriors star added, "We have a very competent group, and we have fun when we're out there on the floor, and it shows, obviously. We enjoy what we do. But for the most part, you don't hear us talking about, you know, comparing ourselves to other great teams and 'We could beat this team, we're better than this team.' We're living in the moment."
Meanwhile, a number of fans have started to brand Curry as a "cheat code." While NBA 2K players despise the use of tricks to get ahead of the game, the creators of the series have encountered that the emergence of the Golden State Warriors star makes it difficult for them to keep up. Mike Wang, the gameplay director of NBA 2K, told Forbes that Curry as a "rule breaker" makes it difficult to accurately integrate him into the game.
"To be completely honest, we are still looking for ways to better translate his game into NBA 2K," shared Wang of Curry. He added, "He's a 'rule breaker' when it comes to jump shooting ... he becomes a problem in the video game world where we've been trying to train our gamers [to know] that certain types of shots should be rewarded versus others."
