We have already known that the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) V Heist missions will be available through DLC (Downloadable Content) for the PS4 and Xbox One. GTA creator Rockstar Games has stated in a news release that these four-player co-op modes that allow players to plan, prepare and execute these heists across Los Santos (the fictional city of GTA) will not be available until early in 2015. Now, according to VG 24/7, there is news of a Story-driven DLC in development.
Since the release of GTA V, there has been an absence of any additional story content for the game's single-player campaign. Most of the DLC will be the multi-player Heist missions as well as a lot of patches in order to make the game more stable to play. Considering that the developers announced that they were working on single and multi-player content DLC for GTA V even before its release date, fans have been waiting about a year.
One confirmation that GTA V is working on this single-player storyline is that Shawn Fonteno is reprising his role of Franklin to record additional lines, according to The Inquistir. What isn't known is what the storyline will be about, or if the other characters that single players can control, Michael and Trevor, have been tapped to do any more lines. It is also not known what part of the storyline these new scenes will take place, before, middle, or after?
So far, no paid DLC packs have been associated with GTA V. Fans of the game can receive free DLC packs because of GTA Shark Cards. Shark Cards are redeemable cards/codes that are sold for $3 to $100, to grant in-game cash to spend on vehicles, weapons, clothing and more.
A recent interview with Rockstar Games at IGN explained that the Heists took longer to roll out than expected, but this was because they turned out to be a lot more difficult than they originally thought. There will be five unique strands involving over 20 total missions, which will add up to 20 hours of additional gameplay. These additional heists will be added for free, but there is no word if the single-player storyline will cost anything extra real cash or Shark Cards.
Grand Theft Auto V can be purchased now for the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3. Right now, fans can access several holiday-themed activities, thanks to their annual seasonal event.
