We have previously reported that the Heists DLC was coming to Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 in December, but that hasn't yet happened due to delays from Rockstar Games. We do have a more definite release date for GTA 5 Online Heists.
Those of you GTA 5 players will have to wait until sometime around the end of March if you want to play the Online Heists DLC, according to the Latin Times. In fact, Rockstar games have announced something else is coming: "GTA Online for PC, which will support up to 30 players, will launch alongside GTAV for PC and will include GTA Online Heists. Online Heists for consoles will be launching in the coming weeks ahead of the PC launch."
So there is no official release date of GTA 5 Online Heists DLC as yet. The Latin Times also reports that there are some developments in the Heists DLC as some leaked Source Code reveals some interesting developments like a number of new add-ons in the Heists DLC include the "CJ_IOABoat," "hei_carrier," "smboat," "cs3_07_mpgates," and "hei_yacht_heist."
So what does that mean? Well, a GTA 5 tipser and YouTuber known as DomisLive has one possible scenario for the Heists DLC. There will be a yacht that is best reached by parachuting from an aircraft and landing on the deck, and this aircraft might be found on an aircraft carrier. There is also a possibility of a map expansion with a GTA5 Casino DLC, but there is not any confirmation of that. The Casino job could take place in Las Vegas or San Francisco, but this would result in some massive server lag as players would be stretched across an even bigger map, according to the International Business Times.
In addition to these leaks about the Heists, there is word that there will be seven new cars, including the Lampadati Casco (premium luxury car), Dinka Endura (tough dirt bike), Vapid Guardian (possible law enforcement vehicle), HVY Insurgent (heavy industrial vehicle), Karin Kuruma (a new compact sports sedan inspired by the real-life Mitsubishi Evolution X), Karin Technical (inspired by the Suburu Impreza STI), and Principe Lectro ( a new electric motorcycle).
It certainly looks like these updates are worth waiting for, which is what Rockstar hopes its fans believe. According to Venture Capital Post, Rockstar posted an announcement which read: "Thanks for your understanding and we assure you these few extra weeks will be worth it when the game does arrive in March." Although the announcement was more a reference to the release of the PC version of the popular franchise, it is also targeted for those still awaiting the Heists DLC.
As we have previously reported, DomisLive has had a lot to say about leaks on the Heists missions:
Prison Van Rescue CnC
The CnC stands for Cops and Crooks, and this involves crooks stealing a news van in order to reach a fellow gang member. Once the gang member is in the van, the Cops will come out, and you will have to lose them before getting back to the gang house.
Hostage Deal CnC Mission
As the name implies, it is about recovering a hostage from a gang. In this case, you are trying to get a hostage from an NPC (nonplayable character) gang as players move this hostage to a new safe house. There are even players that act as cops to stop the biker gang.
Weapons Deal CnC Mission and Stealing Artifacts from the Military Base
In this mission, you have to track down a criminal who is hiding out, and deliver him to the cops. In exchange, the crooked cops will exchange some weapons for some cash. Speaking of weapons, the "stealing artifacts from the military base" has a mission description of "Vikings gang members have to steal an artifact from the military base while cops are required to secure the item and bring it back to the army base".
Ornate Bank and Country Bank Heist
There are two bank robbery capers that players can get involved in. The Ornate Bank Heist involves breaking through a bank counter, unlocking a tough vault, and dropping off the money at a secure location. The Country Bank Heist involves robbing a rural bank, get the cashier to open the vault, and getting to the safe house. Both of these missions allow 16 cops and 4 criminals for participation.
Grand Theft Auto V can be purchased now for the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3, and the DLC Online Heists updates should be available sometime before the end of March 2015.
