Rockstar Games could reveal its new game in the next couple of months. This news comes after GTA Online had its best three months of sales ever. Rumors hint Rockstar's new project is the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6).

Here's what is currently known about GTA 6 release date and rumors on the web.

It has been three years since Rockstar Games released the Grand Theft Auto 5, and after that the developer has not released anything. But it is interesting to know that GTA Online is performing well for the company.

GTA 5's online counterpart had its best quarter run in terms of microtransactions sales. Reuters reported Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar's parent company, GAAP net revenue was on the rise during the second quarter of 2016, growing by $311.6 million (compared with $275.3 million during the same quarter last year). Furthermore, the company's digital net revenue increased by 55 percent for the quarter, from $154 million last year to $172.1 million this year.

Market analysts predict Take-Two will have $425 million for the current quarter and revenue of $1.75 billion to $1.85 billion for the year.

Interestingly, Take-Two officials touched on Rockstar's next titles. It revealed, "Rockstar Games also is hard at work on some exciting future projects that will be revealed soon." They did not specifically say what are those projects, but many believe GTA 6 is one of them.  

The next GTA is rumored to introduce the biggest map in the franchise. This massive world map is deemed to be a combination of all locations from the previous GTA titles. It is also reported that players will have a chance to visit of all of the new areas. Several gaming websites claim GTA 6's new location would be in London.

Once the GTA 6 arrives, it could be playable on VR platform - something players have been requesting for. If it is true, the game will present a whole new of kind of experience to players. The immersive environment in VR platform will definitely make GTA 6 more exciting,

Rockstar Games has not yet released any information regarding GTA 6, so we can only rely on rumors and speculations. Although some suggest the game is already under development, the game developer has not yet confirmed the existence of GTA 6.
