Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 filming has begun.  Facebook.

Karen Gillan fueled fans excitement for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." She posted a picture of her hands covered in blue and said she is personally excited to be back.

The former "Doctor Who" companion cannot contain her excitement to be covered in blue body paint. She took to her Twitter to share to the fans of the movie a picture of her blue, long-nailed fingers. She plays the space pirate character Nebula.

It was confirmed earlier this month by none other than director James Gunn that Nebula is coming back on the superhero sequel. This time, Nebula is likely to have a bigger role. The director added that it is "exciting" to have the actress be part of the movie.

Following Gillian's teasing of Nebula, Gunn also teased Star Lord and the Ravagers. He took to Facebook to post an insigina/logo of the space pirate group, the Ravagers, of which Star-Lord is part of to as well as Yondu and Gunn's brother, Sean Gunn, Kraglin.

Earlier on, Gunn revealed that there will still be one more core member joining the Guardians team. Many speculate that it will be Mantis. The director himself revealed that indeed, Mantis will be the new addition and that newcomer Pom Klementieff will play the role. When it comes to the comic book version of Mantis, the character is a half-Vietnamese, half-German woman who was abandoned at the care of the Priests of Pama, a sect of the Kree, when she was just an infant. She was believed to be the Celestial Madonna so she was given martial arts training. She has the power to instinctively sense weak points as well as superhuman strengths of her rivals. It remains to be seen if the Mantis on movie will be given the same treatment. It remains to be seen also if Klementieff can pull off the character.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" has a release date of May 5, 2017. Actors Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn all reprised their roles. Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Kurt Russell are joining the original cast.
