Alabama RB Derrick Henry
Henry is one of the most physically outstanding college football players in the country. He has 242-pound weight that can outlast other players in the league. He can make a home run in any given night. Moreover, he is almost impossible to stop at his stop speed.
Henry is also the presumptive favorite. He is leading in ESPN.com's Heisman Watch, and he got the top spot in three of the six expert ballots on CBS Sports.
Furthermore, the quarterback surpassed Herschel Walker in the SEC record book for most rushing yards in a single season.
Stanford RB Christian McCaffrey
McCaffrey's versatility could be his edge among other contenders for Heisman award this year. Joel Klatt of Fox sports gave some insights about the playing style of Stanford running back.
Klatt pointed out that McCaffrey had big contributions for his team. The quarterback's 3,496 all-purpose yards lead the country by more than 1,000 yards.
Moreover, Bucky Brooks of NFL.com wrote, "McCaffrey's flashy combination of speed, quickness and burst reminds some scouts of Reggie Bush, which is a testament to his dominance in the Pac-12."
McCaffrey has played as back role, slot receiver, kick returner, punt returner and even some Wildcat quarterback this season.
Clemson QB Deshaun Watson
Just like McCaffrey, Watson has one more year to play in college football. This season, the Clemson star quarterback has 3,512 yards and 30 touchdowns through the air. Moreover, he has run for 887 yards and 11 touchdowns.
In the second half of the season, he averages 315.2 passing yards and 100.2 rushing yards in the Tigers' final five games.
