HONG KONG - Top officials of the Hong Kong S.A.R. participated in writing good-will letters sponsored by World Vision to the victims of Sichuan earthquake.
Mr. Donald Tsang, chief executives of Hong Kong S.A.R., three secretaries and 12 dept. heads wrote words of blessings on specially made cards and gave them to World Vision to deliver to the victims, aiming to comfort and support them through this period of suffering.
In expressing his compassion for the victims of Sichuan, Tsang wrote on the card that since you are alive, you should live well. With the grief for your loved ones, turning that into a source of strength and building a better tomorrow, giving you all infinite amount of blessings.”
On the 10th, World Vision has collected close to ten thousand of these good-will cards written by the citizens, which will be transferred by DHL to Sichuan and then handed out or distributed by World Vision staffs to the victims there.
It has been a month since the earthquake struck Sichuan. World Vision has concluded its estimation of the disaster after-math for the province of Sichuan, Gansu, Shaanxi, and is engaged in full scale disaster-relief work. The total goal for fund-raising has been set to 27 billion HKD to be used for emergency rescue and reconstruction plans, from which an estimated 1 million people will benefit from this.
