During the past Christmas and New Year’s season, numerous mainland Chinese tourists visited Hong Kong to get their shopping done. Hong Kong churches and ministries saw the large number of visitors as an excellent opportunity for evangelism, so they brought performances at East Tsim Sha Tsui and Wan Chai Golden Bauhinia Square to preach the real meaning of Christmas to them.
With the theme “A Trip of Blessings”, churches and ministries brought performances that included dance, shows, gift distribution of gospel messages. One tourist from mainland China expressed that he initially thought these performances were regular street performances, but when he found out that these were churches “Proclaiming the good news”he became curious and stopped to watch.
At the end of this program, a total of 14,000 gospel gift bags were passed out to people from ten provinces in China, such as Quandong, Quanxi, Guizhou, Liaoning, Anhui, and from Singapore, Indonesia, United States, and even Hong Kong. A total of 131 people responded positively, and 29 people decided to put their faith in the Lord.
