HTC teases fans about its upcoming flagship device, the One M10. This week, the company sent out the image above to different tech websites with the email subject: "Power of 10." Today's reports say the HTC will hold an April 11 event in London to unveil the flagship device.
Now, here's the latest round up of news about HTC M10 release date, specs and features.
Many smartphone manufactures unveiled their latest devices at the Barcelona's Mobile World Congress, but the HTC Company has different plan. The company skips the tech trade show and will release their new device at a later date. Some tech experts say this strategy is good for the phone manufacturer, as it will give some distance from the buzz around new gadgets from Samsung and LG.
Furthermore, the Taiwan-based phone maker hopes to lure more buyers by making the One M10 better than One M9, which is heavily criticized by tech enthusiasts. Tech Radar reported the device is under the codename "Perfume," which could very well end up being the HTC One M10.
VentureBeat published some interesting details about the features of HTC M10/Perfume. The upcoming device will house a 5.1" QHD display running at 2560 x 1440. Its processing capacity will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, coupled with 4 GB of RAM.
HTC M10's camera will boast features like Sapphire Lens Cover, Laser Autofocus and Optical Image Stabilization. The main snapper is rumored to have 12MP UltraPixel, and the front camera will have 4MP Ultrapixel.
Additionally, buyers will have a concert-like listening experience, thanks to BoomSound speakers that features mini subwoofer and extra rich bass.
Based on HTC M10's leaked image from Evan Blas, it seems the device will have sharper edges than the HTC One M9. Like the Ms before it, the M9 has rounded edges, but M10 will depart from that design.
The device is also said to have Android Marshmallow right out of the box. This new firmware from Google has innovative apps and cool features that phone lovers will definitely love. Also, trusted sources say the device might have a microSD slot for expandable storage.
With the rumored April 11 release date, it seems that HTC 10 will have to compete with top-brands in the tech market. Can the device outlast Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5 and iPhone S7? We'll find out once it becomes available on retail stores.
