Jets' Smith and Michael Vick have expressed their excitement to get on the field for an actual game to see how their training during the offseason will translate to this plays.

"I'm physically bigger, stronger, and on the mental side of it, I'm not thinking as much, not swimming as uch," said Smith, according to NewYorkJets.com. "I have a better understanding of the offense and really just understanding my surroundings a lot better. Ultimately, it's about proving it on the field, going out there on Thursday night and being sharp and having a good showing."

Head coach Rex Ryan named Smith as a starter for the game against the Colts.

New York Jets have some new players, including newly picked up player Chris Johnson. They could become one of the top defensive teams in the league if they force more turnovers.
