For those of you unfamiliar with the process of jailbreaking, it is a way of removing the restrictions of iOS (the closed source operating system on Apple devices) on their mobiles such as the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. There had been a recent V1.0.0 tool released by TaiG, and there is also news that iOS 8.4.1 is also available for jailbreak, even it isn't available for the general public, and this is what is known for the Release Date of iOS 9.

According to Gotta Be Mobile, Apple released an iOS 8.4.1 that essentially was able to patch up the iOS 8.4 jailbreak from TaiG.  As predicted, the iOS 8.4.1 update would patch up the TaiG 8.4 jailbreak, and this has apparently come to pass.  Fortunately, a new 8.4.1 has been successful.

A user named Pangu, who has recently returned to the jailbreak business, is teasing an iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak at the HackPwn 2015 security conference over the weekend.    Apparently Apple has discussed the security exploits of iOS 8.4, and the TaiG jailbreak of that operating system really showed the company where the potential security threats are.

So, since there is an 8.4.1 jailbreak, when will it be released to the public?  Well that is apparently still a tease.  It is probably just a proof of concept and not ready for public consumption as yet.

So it might not be possible for users to jailbreak their iOS 8.4.1 Apple devices now, or ever.  Like a lot of rollouts, it might just be better to wait for the latest update rather than trying to stay current on what is available now.  For those that still have iOS 8.4 and want to jailbreak, do not update to 8.4.1.

A recent report from the International Business Times has revealed that TaiG has finally released V1.0.0 Mac jailbreak tool, which supports untethered jailbreak on all devices running on iOS 8.1.3 to iOS 8.4. In fact, you should be able to go to the TaiG site right now, and download this version for the Mac, and V1.1.0 also fixes the blank screen on OS X 10.9.

A separate article from IBT describes the process of installing the TaiG jailbreak 1.1.0 for Mac on your iOS devices powered by the iOS operating system 8.1.3.-8.4. Please note that the user takes his or her own risks when trying this. This is a guide for if you have a Mac, but there are Windows compatible versions available.

Since the TaiG jailbreak V1.1.0 supports iOS 8.1.3 all the way up to iOS 8.4, there is no reason why you shouldn't update your iOS device to iOS 8.4 if you haven't already. You should also have at least 80 percent power in your battery before attempting the jailbreak.

Another issue is the soon-to-be released iOS 9.  Chances are, that will not be jailbreak-able for quite a while, and you can count on Pangu and TaiG focusing their efforts on jailbreaking that.  Of course, that jailbreak of iOS 9 won't appear right away, so it looks like there will be even more waiting to do.  It is predicted that the iOS 9 jailbreak won't arrive until around Christmas time, but we will see.
