Will jailbreak for Apple iOS 8.4, 8.3 and 8.2 ever be released? Recent developments suggest that at least the iOS 8.4 jailbreak may soon be available. In a YouTube video, hacker Stefan Esser showcased his personal iOS 8.4 beta 1 jailbreak for the iPhone 6. Earlier this month, the same hacker allegedly jail broke the iOS 8.3 as well.

"Today I am delighted to share this video of a proof of concept iOS 8.4-beta 1 jailbreak that I was working on the last 4 days," Esser wrote on Sunday, April 19. "Of course this video will trigger haters all over the jailbreaking scene that for some reason believe they can decide what a person is allowed to do or not do with their work."

Unfortunately, the iOS featured in the proof-of-concept video is not a public jailbreak release. Also, Esser does not have a reputation of releasing work to the public. Still, groups such as TaiG and Pangu are reportedly working on jailbreaking iOS 8.3. Unlike Esser, both teams have publically released the fruits of their labor.

Official iOS 8.3 Launch Postpones iOS 8.2 Jailbreak Indefinitely

Recent gossip suggests that TaiG may soon launch their version of iOS 8.3 jailbreak. Previously, the team had released the jailbreak for iOS 8.2 beta 1 and 2. The natural assumption was that TaiG would launch an iOS 8.2 jailbreak before the iOS 8.3 release.

This has not occurred, leaving some observers to question whether a public iOS 8.2 Jailbreak will ever see the light of day. As the staff at Evasi0n Jailbreak recently noted, a hypothetical iOS 8.2 jailbreak release would have given Apple the necessary information to interfere with a future jailbreak for iOS 8.3.

With the iOS 8.3 roll out more or less completed, Apple has shifted its attention to the upcoming iOS 8.4. On Monday, April 13, Apple released an iOS 8.4 beta to developers. One highlight of iOS 8.4 is Apple's new Music app that reportedly comes with a redesigned look and powerful features.

Users planning to jailbreak their iPhone or iPad should note the activity is very time-consuming. Whenever there is a new iOS available, users must factory-wipe their devices before installing the update. Once that is completed, the owner must download the new update from Apple before jailbreaking the device. The amount of time necessary to complete such update may take hours. Casual or new users may want to avoid jailbreaking.
