‘Jill and Jessa: Counting On’ Updates & Recap: Ben Seewald Dreams of Becoming a Christian Rap Star

On the latest episode of "Jill and Jessa: Counting On," Jessa Duggar Seewald and his husband Ben visited the record studio of a couple of Christian rappers for their inner-city ministry work. And, having only recently learned about hip-hop, Ben tried his hand at being a rap star.

The couple went to the studio in St. Louis, Missouri along with their baby Spurgeon. There, they met rapper Flame and producer Spec. For the couple, this was their first hands-on experience with the music genre.

Jessa admitted that she has never heard of hop-hop before while Ben said that he first discovered it about 18 months ago. So, for the two, their time inside the studio and in the company of Flame was a truly memorable experience.

The couple then made the event even more special when Ben stepped inside the recording booth with Spurgeon. With the help of Spec, they were able to record the baby's giggles and other adorable noises.

That's when Ben decided to try rapping. However, almost immediately after he started "spitting verses," Jessa, Flame and the other people inside the studio started bursting into laughter as Ben awkwardly tried to rap.

"I thought, all right, I'm just going to give it a shot...and it didn't work out too well," he said according to ET Online.

During his attempt, it can be clearly heard that he was having a hard time hitting the right notes and matching the tempo of the song. Aside from that, there were certain moments where he was shouting.

In his defense, he couldn't hear himself inside the booth because of the headphones, which was why he was always out of tune.

"The headphones were too loud so I couldn't hear myself," Ben said. "I could feel that I was hitting a wrong note, but I couldn't hear myself to correct it."

Although it would appear that Ben's attempt to become a Christian rapper was short-lived, he was eventually saved by Spec who took the recording of Spurgeon's sounds and mixed it with a heavily autotuned vocal track of Ben.

"Now I see why this guy's a producer!" he said after hearing the mix made by Spec.
