Former "19 Kids and Counting" stars Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have expressed their excitement following the birth of Jessa and Ben Seewald's first child on November 5th.

In a Facebook post on Friday morning, the Duggar parents revealed that on Thursday, Jessa, 23, gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 9 lbs. 11 oz. and 21 ½ inches long.

"So excited!!!!! Ben and Jessa have had their sweet new baby!" the new grandparents announced. "A beautiful baby BOY!!!!! More details soon. Mom and baby are both doing great! Thanks for all your prayer! Congrats Ben and Jessa, we love you!"

While Ben and Jessa have not revealed their son's name, they shared several pictures of the beautiful baby on their family blog.

The young couple, who recently celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary, first shared the news of their pregnancy back in April.

"I think having this first year together to share our lives, just the two of us, has been special," said Jessa before adding that the two are "definitely excited to be parents."

Earlier this week, the new mom predicted she would have "a chubby little baby," revealing that she was "the biggest out of all my siblings" at 9 lbs., 15oz.

She also celebrated her 23rd birthday by indulging in some last-minute pregnancy cravings she was able to indulge, including tacos and a chocolate sundae, according to her Instagram page.

While Jessa has regularly shared pregnancy updates on social media, the exciting event has largely been overshadowed by the scandal surrounding her older brother, Josh, who recently admitted to molesting five children, including several of his own sisters, 12 years ago.

Several months later, the eldest Duggar son admitted to having an account on AshleyMadison.com, a website designated to facilitate extramarital affairs.

Despite the scandal surrounding her extended family, Jessa reportedly "cherished every moment" of pregnancy, a source told People Magazine.

"Jessa is truly feeling so happy, healthy and centered. This is really one of the best times of her life," said the source. "Her love for Ben is really something to see. They adore each other, and it's clear that they're soulmates. He treats her like a true queen."

The birth of Jessa and Ben's first born comes just a few months after the birth of sister Jill and Derick Dillard's firstborn son, Israel David. According to People, the birth of the new baby will be a focal point in Counting On, TLC's upcoming series of specials featuring Jessa and Jill's lives now.
