In a video shared by Jinger Duggar to fans on TLC, she and Jeremy Vuolo opened up about finally exchanging wedding vows and getting to live their dream of being husband and wife to each other.
"We are overjoyed to announce that we are now husband and wife,”Jeremy said in the video clip, while adding as he turned to his wife: “It was surreal when you said ‘I do.’”
Similarly, Jinger showed her enthusiasm about their new status and shared the following statement about getting married, four months after announcing their engagement: “It’s incredible to see us at this place when we’ve prayed about this for so long and we just longed for the day where we were married, and now God’s given us our heart’s desire and our prayer … he’s just so graciously given [this] to us.”
The couple tied the knot in an extra-special Arkansas wedding ceremony on November 5, Saturday, having invited over a thousand family members and friends. These included older brother Josh Duggar and his wife Anna.
As pointed out by People, the 22-year-old reality star exchanged vows with the 28-year-old former soccer player at the Cathedral of the Ozarks at John Brown University in Siloam Springs.
Jinger’s sister, Jessa Duggar-Seewald, was recognized as the maid of honor, while Jeremy’s brother, Charles, served as the best man. Chuck Vuolo, Jeremy’s father, was asked to preside over the nuptials.
“This was one of the most touching parts of the wedding is for Jeremy’s father to be able to officiate our wedding, standing with us and praying for us on this special day,” the newly-married couple said in an interview with People.
"Jim Bob Duggar said it was the most beautiful wedding he has seen," Us Weekly reported, as one of their insiders noted. "They had around 2,000 handpicked flowers for the wedding — they spelled out the letter V."
The source also mentioned a wide range of culinary details that were made available during the reception, including cheese, crackers, meatballs and veggies as well as multiple flavors of cupcakes for dessert, particularly chocolate, cranberry and pumpkin.
“There was no first dance at the reception, no dancing at all,” the insider added, associating this condition with the Duggar family’s religious background.
Nonetheless, both Jinger’s and Jeremy’s fathers shared their speeches.
The pair crossed each other’s paths in May 2015, and went into an engagement in July this year, merely a month after making their courtship public.
“So excited to share this news that we are now engaged,” the couple previously shared in an official statement. “From both of us, thank you all for the countless well-wishes we’ve received during the courtship.”
‘Counting On: Jinger's Wedding’ is set to air on Tuesday, November 15, at 8 p.m. ET. on TLC.
