It is that time of the month again, to see what PlayStation Plus offers to its subscribers in terms of free games. After all, who would not like to have free games being served up to them? What does the month of June 2017 deliver in terms of gaming titles for the regular PlayStation Plus subscriber? PlayStation Turkey had an inkling of an idea, but it seems that they managed to release a tweet that showcased some titles that will arrive, only to remove the tweet later on. Removing a post a couple of decades ago would be akin to getting rid of the evidence, but not in this day and age where the Internet has a memory. PlayStation Turkey’s tweet points to a couple of June 2017 PlayStation Plus free games on PlayStation 4, and they are Killing Floor 2 and Life Is Strange.
Officially speaking, Sony will be making an announcement of the June 2017 PlayStation Plus titles this coming Wednesday, May 31, before ensuring that the announced titles would end up live on Tuesday, June 6. Sure, the announcement made on the last day of May does seem to be rather late compared to other months, but as long as it happens to provide a few days’ worth of heads up for avid gamers is better than nothing. Having said that, you still have a few more days left to enjoy what PlayStation Plus had in store for May 2017.
It would be out of place for an official Sony channel like PlayStation Turkey to tweet the wrong information, so we can more or less expect Killing Floor 2 and Life Is Strange to arrive in North America and Europe regions for June 2017. Of course, one should never discount the fact that there will be regional differences from time to time. For instance, Abzu for PS4 is only offered in North America at the moment, while our friends living across the pond will be able to enjoy Alienation for PS4 instead.
This leave the gaming masses wondering just what other titles will be released under the PlayStation Plus banner for the month of June. Will the Sony PS3 pick up triple A titles to kick start the summer gaming session? How about the PS Vita, which is a widely overlooked console? Hopefully there will be no Cross Buy titles this time around.
How does Sony’s PlayStation Plus work?
PlayStation Plus, otherwise known as PS Plus, works this way. It is essentially a paid-for PlayStation Network subscription service. All subscribers will automatically gain access to premium features. Some of these extras will comprise of early access to upcoming games, beta trials, regular store discounts, as well as being first in line when it comes to obtaining system software updates as well as automatic downloads for game patches. To sweeten the deal, members will also be offered up to half a dozen games each month for free. Normally, two of these games will be for the PS4, while another two will be for the aged PS3, with the final two being for the handheld PS Vita.
There are times when some of these titles are Cross Buy titles, so it would seem as though there is less value for that particular month. Last but not least, members will be on the receiving end of 10GB of internet storage space, allowing you to stash up to a whopping 1,000 saved game files -- now how about that for value for money? All PS4 online multiplayer action would require a subscription to PlayStation Plus, and depending on your budget and gaming pattern, you can select from a monthly, three-month or annual subscription. Needless to say, those who select a longer subscription period will pay less for each month of use when averaged out.
