Justin Bieber is taking to social media to prove that he really is turning his life around.
The popstar posted on Facebook earlier this week in response to rumors of attempted robbery.
"It is hard to defend myself and my privacy every moment of the day. Then to see rumors. The truth will set u free. My mom raised me to be kind to others. I get judged, harassed, and I try to take the high road. Sometimes it isn't easy. But we keep trying. I will continue to be the man my mother raised. I love people and I will try to be kind even when things are not fair. Don't believe rumors."
Earlier this month, Bieber posted, "some will hate....more will want to love. Letting the love in. Ignoring the hate. Keep it positive!" And then, "Love your neighbor as yourself. And btw your neighbor isn't just the one next door #wordsofencouragement."
Following a year of run-ins with the law, including a DUI arrest in Miami, an assault charge in Toronto, and felony vandalism probe in Los Angeles, Bieber appears to be cleaning up his act.
"This is my time off but my mind is always running." He posted on Facebook. "Learned a lot this past year thru trial & error but that is life. Excited for what's next."
Many credit Bieber's turnaround to the amount of time he has spent with his mom, Patti, a born-again Christian. Bieber posted a photo with her on Mother's Day, writing, "You mean the world to me. Love you."
Earlier this month, the "Boyfriend" singer appeared in a music video by Christian rapper Brandon Burke, discussing Jesus, God, and forgiveness.
"God loved the world so much he gave up his own son, right?" the popstar asks. "Imagine, like, someone killing your son."
Like a bunch of people killing your [son]," he adds passionately, "These are your people, right? It's like, "How are you killing my son? That's my son! It's gonna be hard for you to forgive."
"God forgave everyone and they killed his son. That's how much grace God has."
While many remain skeptical of Bieber's sudden turnaround, Hillsong pastor Carl Lentz defended Bieber from online criticism, writing" "Leave my man JB alone and clean up your own (l)ife." Later, he encouraged Bieber via twitter, posting, "our job is to simply 'tune out the noise' from the world and 'turn up the volume' on the voice from HEAVEN..life is GOOD when you can hear from GOD!"
