Kingdom Hearts III

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Kingdom Hearts, it is very successful series of role-playing games developed by Square Enix along with Disney Interactive.  In fact, the game has several Disney settings and characters for this series, with a touch of the characters from Final Fantasy mixed in, as well as one other game: The World Ends with You.  There are actually seven games spanning across many video game consoles, but the long awaited Kingdom Hearts 3 is still awaiting a release date for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.  The game was anticipated to come out sometime in 2015, but there could be more delays.

According to Latinos Post, Sony has a list of games that will be released this year for the PS4, PS3, and PS Vita.  A lot of gamers were disappointed to see that the long-awaited Kingdom Hearts 3 was not on the list

If you are concerned that a 2015 release date could be an issue, there might be a light at the end of this dark tunnel.  The VC Post has reported that a YouTube user named The GamersJoint discovered a secret logo in the HTML code in the official Kingdom Hearts 3 website that claims the new gameplay trailer for Kingdom Hearts 3 will be released at the Electronics Entertainment Expo (E3), heled annually in Los Angeles ever summer.

One of the voice actors for Kingdom Hearts 3, Bill Farmer, responded to a fan asking about Kingdom Hearts 3 and its release date.  Farmer tweeted that he had been recording on the game for the past few years and "it [Kingdom Hearts 3] is supposed to come out later this year".

Unfortunately, this was not the case.  According to Franchise Herald, the official Square Enix USA Twitter account had an official comment that "there was a Goof". This is a double meaning, as Bill Farmer voices the famous Disney character of Goofy in the Kingdom Hearts game.  The tweet that describes this "goof" also states that the release date for Kingdom Hearts 3 remains unannounced.

In the meantime, a recent interview with game developer director Tai Tasue of Square Enix, as well as Nexxt Up, has revealed a lot about the game, according to Reality Today.  Apparently there will be new stages and bosses, including a "Birth by Sleep" level and a "dark" level to finish.  There is also a chance to play as Aqua and kill a "predatorial" enemy at the end of the bonus level.

One rumor going about would be that there would be a world like that in Disney's popular Frozen movie.  Unfortunately, that will not be the case, but it could be in later versions of the game. There have also been rumors that Darth Vader and Iron Man could be in the game.  Since Disney has the rights to both Star Wars and Marvel comics, this is a possibility but probably not for right now.

According to GameStop, the most recent trailer of Kingdom Hearts 3 was released back in October 2013. It is not uncommon to have game trailers come out several months before a release, so a release date will have to be coming soon, for sure.  A lot of big announcements for video games get unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, also known as E3, held in Los Angeles at the L.A. Convention Center annually every summer.

One of the reasons for the delay is because Square Enix is also developing a Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix, which could be out by December 2nd.  Square Enix is also attempting to get another version of Final Fantasy out with Final Fantasy XV, which should hopefully be out by December of this year, as we have previously reported.  Perhaps Kingdom Hearts 3 will be out by then. If these two franchises are released at the same time, this will be quite a year for Square Enix, especially when Kingdom Hearts crosses over into Final Fantasy territory.
