Every November, churches across South Korea unite in a nationwide spiritual movement known as the Daniel Prayer Meeting, dedicating 21 days to prayer for the nation and the next generation. The 2025 gathering began on November 1 and will continue through November 21 at Oryun Church in Gangdong District, Seoul. The entire event is being livestreamed so believers around the world can participate in real time.
The Daniel Prayer Meeting originated in 1998 as a voluntary prayer gathering among members of Oryun Church. Held annually in November for three weeks, it has since grown into a nationwide, interdenominational prayer movement unconnected to any particular denomination. Now in its 28th year, the 2025 prayer meeting carries the theme “Only the Word, Only Prayer, Only Grace,” calling the Korean Church to return to the essence of faith.
According to Christian Today of Korea, last year’s event drew participation from 16,549 churches in 111 countries, with more than 14 million YouTube views and involvement from 90 denominations in Korea and abroad. The “Offering of Love” raised 4.5 billion KRW (approx. 3.3 million USD), all of which was donated to support pastors in under-resourced rural and fishing villages, medical expenses for missionaries, and aid for marginalized neighbors. The prayer meeting also provided direct financial assistance to 550 recipients, including lay believers, pastors, missionaries, and missionary children.
This year’s speakers include a diverse group of pastors and Christian figures: Rev. Kim Eun-ho, founding pastor of Oryun Church; Rev. Han Kyu-sam of Choonghyun Church; former KBS announcer Kim Jae-won; film director Jang Sung-ho (King of Kings); Rev. Park Yo-han and his wife Park In-kyung; North Korean defector and broadcaster Kang Eun-jung; and Rev. Jeon Joseph, who walked across Korea to raise awareness for his daughter battling a rare disease. Each will share messages and personal testimonies of God’s grace from their respective life journeys.
Worship throughout the 21 days will be led in relay by more than 20 praise teams from across the country, including Remnant Worship (Oryun Church), Team Joshua (Yoido Full Gospel Church), POD Worship, F.I.A Worship, Isaiah 61, Youth Worship Team, and Banquet Community. A special “Children’s Daniel Prayer Meeting” for ages 6–13 will also be held in conjunction at Oryun Church.

“May this year’s Daniel Prayer Meeting become a turning point for the Korean Church to return to the core of faith,” said Joo Sung-ha, head of the organizing team. “Just as the Reformers once shattered the spiritual darkness of the Middle Ages, we pray this will be a time to restore the values of Sola Scriptura, Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Solus Christus, and Soli Deo Gloria.”
Rev. Kim Eun-ho, chairman of the organizing committee, added, “As we enter the new Daniel Prayer Meeting 2.0 era, we are moving forward in unity and revival among Korean diaspora churches worldwide. We will continue to pray and press on until the Lord returns, striving for the unity of churches and believers that pleases God.”
Meanwhile, the Global Daniel Prayer Meeting will be broadcast online in six languages—English, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, and Vietnamese—allowing churches around the world to pray together across borders. Organizers envision it as a growing global spiritual network that seeks revival and healing for all nations beyond the Korean Peninsula.
