As wildfires persist in their advance across Los Angeles (LA), the extent of the damage has intensified considerably, affecting an area approximately equivalent to a quarter the size of Seoul.

More than 150,000 residents have been evacuated, and over 1,400 firefighters have been mobilized in a continuous effort to control the fires, which continue to present significant challenges to extinguishment.

An official of Korean churches in Southern California revealed their efforts to support victims of wildfires by purchasing and donating emergency relief supplies, including masks and blankets, to those in need.

The list of emergency relief supplies includes:

  • New masks (N95, KN95, KF94, and disposable masks)
  • Blankets
  • Other daily essentials

The Light of Love Mission Church, pastored by Pastor Yoon Daehyuk and located near the Eaton Fire-affected area of Altadena, reported on the status of the situation. The church said that two families within their congregation who live in Altadena sustained significant damage to their homes but were covered by insurance for housing.

“A significant number of our members have relocated to hotels or the residences of friends and family in response to evacuation orders,” stated a representative of the church. “We request prayers for the prompt containment of the wildfire so that all individuals can safely return home without incurring further property losses.”
