Bobbi Kristina Brown, the 22-year-old daughter of the late Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, has been moved into hospice care nearly five months after she was found unconscious at her Georgia home. In a statement released Wednesday, her grieving family said that "she is in God's hands now" and thanked the public for their support and prayers.

The aspiring actress has remained hospitalized since she was found face down and unresponsive in a bathtub on January 31 by her boyfriend, Nick Gordon. She was rushed to North Fulton Hospital, where she was placed in a medically induced coma. She later moved to Emory University Hospital, and from there a rehab facility.

Despite having received what her aunt, Pat Houston, described as "great medical care" at the various medical facilities, Bobbi's condition has failed to improve and subsequently, she has been moved into hospice care.

"Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown's condition has continued to deteriorate," Pat Houston said in a statement released on June 24. "As of today, she has been moved into hospice care. We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God's hands now."

A Brown family source also told People Magazine, "She's skin and bones now. She has been losing weight, she's been losing hair. They were taking good care of her, but she has no muscle tone at all. There has been some worry that her organs are shutting down."

The severity of Bobbi's condition has shocked many, as Bobbi's father, Bobby Brown, told a Dallas crowd back in April that his daughter was "awake" and expressed confidence that she would soon recover.

It is unclear what exactly occurred in the events leading up to the young woman being found face-down in a bathtub, although it has been reported that days prior she was involved in a car accident.

However, Police in Roswell reportedly launched a criminal investigation into Bobbi's case in recent months amid concerns of "foul play" among Brown's family members. Nick Gordon has also come under scrutiny due to "certain bruising" found on her body.

Bobbi's mother, Whitney Houston, died in 2012 and was also found unresponsive in a bathtub. A coroner ruled her death an accidental drowning, with heart disease and cocaine use listed as contributing factors.

Last month, Bobbi's grandmother, Cissy Houston told Entertainment Tonight that the family is resigned to whatever the Lord has in store for Bobbi Kristina.

"She's the same, she's not progressing at all," Cissy, 81, said. "She's not gone yet, but you know, whatever the Lord decides, I'm ready for her...I have nothing to do with that. That's His job. It's His territory, you know? And I understand it."

"We go to the hospital every day and pray," she added. "And, you know, I talk to [Bobbi Kristina] because she can still hear, and I rub her hand and whatnot."
