Remember how those old workspaces that looked so cool simply because they came with some sort of hovering ball paperweight? The wonders of levitation through the opposing forces of magnetism made that possible in the late 1980s and early 1990s, along with kinetic sculptures. Well, LG intends to bring a little bit of magic to your bedside desk with the LG PJ9. The LG PJ9 is a levitating speaker which is set to offer a kind of “wow” factor that each CES edition is supposed to deliver, and not only does it supposedly look good, it is also tipped to offer more than a half decent audio performance to boot.
Being able to levitate means there are no wires attached to it, and this would make the LG PJ9 speaker to be a wireless wonder. Of course, it will not simply hover in the air without any kind of technology backing it, or a special kind of dock -- which is why the LG PJ9 portable wireless speaker will only work when it is with the accompanying Levitation Station. Sporting an eye-catching design that is sure to appeal to many people who want something to spruce up their bedroom, the LG PJ9 portable wireless speaker will also be able to play your favorite musical tracks seamlessly, in addition to podcasts and other kinds of audio content -- regardless of whether you are stuck in the confines of your home, or would like to enjoy a day outdoors.
Tim Alessi, head of product marketing at LG Electronics USA, shared, "The PJ9 wireless speaker is an exciting combination of audio design and innovation, offering the perfect balance between performance, beauty and versatility. This latest addition to our growing lineup of premium wireless audio devices will not only turn heads, but it makes the bold statement that LG is committed to exploring new concepts and pioneering innovative audio designs for consumers around the world."
The way the LG PJ9 levitates is through the use of powerful electromagnets that are placed within the Levitation Station. This would allow the PJ9 to apparently float about in mid-air without any kind of trickery or hidden wires. Right in the middle lies a 360-degree omnidirectional speaker that has a turbine blade-inspired design and deep bass, as the subwoofer remains embedded within the Levitation Station. Not only that, the PJ9 will also boast of Dual Passive Radiator technology so that it can reproduce flush mid-range tones as well as crisp highs in order to enjoy enhanced levels of audio quality.
There is no word on pricing just yet, but we do know that the LG PJ9 will come with a 10-hour battery life for non-stop audio playback, which is pretty impressive. Whenever it starts to run low on juice, the LG PJ9 is smart enough to make its descent to the Levitation Station in order to experience some wireless charging -- and there is no need for you to adjust its placement or anything of that sort, it will be fully autonomous. Not only that, the LG PJ9 happens to be IPX71 compliant, letting you enjoy your music even in the midst of a slight drizzle, and the presence of Multipoint technology lets you hook up a pair of Bluetooth devices simultaneously without missing a beat.
