Jeremy Lin Promotes 'Linsanity the Movie' Documentary with Papa Lin's Extreme Workout Video

Jeremy Lin posted a short comedy video that features his dad giving him 'extreme workout' lessons, one of the more extremes include cracking an egg on Lin's forehead while training him to dribble under pressure, as a promotional effort for the 'Linsanity the Movie' documentary to be released Thursday nationwide.

The short clip "Papa Lin's Extreme Workout" was filmed earlier this summer apparently near his home town in Palo Alto, California. It was posted just three days before the official release of Evan Jackson Leong-directed 'Linsanity the Movie' documentary. The long-awaited film included video footages of young Jeremy Lin playing basketball during youth league, high school, and college teams captured by his dad and his rise to international fame while playing for New York Knicks is scheduled for release on Oct. 4, 2013. The film is scheduled to be released in Boston, Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco along with 10 to 15 other major cities across North America.

Meanwhile, Lin was asked by The Christian Post before the Los Angeles premiere on his take of his dual roles as the ambassador for Asian-Americas in National Basketball Association (NBA) and for Jesus Christ.

"A lot of people see Asian-Americans as whatever they have their stereotypes for and it has never really been [through] a professional athlete before or at least in a basketball sense," he replied. As for being an ambassador for Christ, Lin said, "Hopefully, through my story and through all the improbables and the miracles that happened in my life, people are inspired or at least a little bit warmer to the idea of exploring who Jesus is."

While Lin's rise to fame has impacted many Asian-Americans and Christians in North America, the film about the Taiwanese-American basketball player is also scheduled for theatrical release in Taiwan on Oct. 11, followed by Hong Kong and China at later dates.

'Linsanity the Movie' project was financed by 408 Films, and produced by Christopher Chen/Endgame Entertainment, Brian Yang/408 Films and Allen Lu.

Ketchup Entertainment will partner with ARC Entertainment on the release of the film. Stephen Stanley of Ketchup negotiated the deal with Nick Ogiony and Dan Steinman of CAA, Gregory Schenz at Endgame Entertainment and Helen Dooley at Williams & Connolly.
