Longmire has a unique situation as being an A&E show for three years, and then getting a renewal on Netflix for a very decent Season 4, followed by another renewal of a Season 5 coming sometime this year, possibly in September. Fans really wanted to see that Season 5, and there here are several things that fans of the show want to see in Longmire Season 5, or perhaps in later seasons.
1. Walt and Vic Should Get Together
At the end of Season 3, it looked like Walt (Robert Taylor) was seriously considering a relationship with Vic (Katee Sackhoff), but that tapered off, especially when it looked like Vic and her husband might actually be working their relationship out. It didn't seem optimistic, are sure enough, Vic was separated and bringing six-packs of Rainier to Walt's door at the beginning of Season 4. By the end of Season 4, Vic got together with Eamonn (Josh Cooke), and Walt had himself involved romantically with Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan (Ally Walker). Fans really want to see Walt and Vic together, so why not?
2. Who is breaking into Walt's place?
The end of Season 4 was yet another cliffhanger for the show, as Walt and Dr. Donna were seemingly interrupted by...someone. The ending shot seemed to list a lot of odd suspects that was nothing short of confusing. The set-up seemed to be for Walker Browning (Callum Keith Rennie) who was for some reason uncuffed at his hospital bed. Did he free himself, or did someone set him free?
3. What will become of Henry?
During Season 4, Henry Standing Bear (Lou Diamond Phillips) decides to take on a role of a late vigilante named Hector to avenge crimes. It was pretty obvious that he was going to have a run-in with the law, and Officer Mathias (Zahn McClarnon) of the tribal police has him by the end of Season 4. What does he intend to do with Henry? If it is to arrest him, that plot was already done before.
4. What does Monte Ford want?
Monte (Stephen Louis Grush)was released as a potential candidate to replace Branch, but suddenly seems to have it out for Longmire. It sounds like his rage is directed just at that, but it could become something more. Was he the one that uncuffed Walker Browning? That would make some sense.
5. What is Jacob Nighthorse's private agenda?
At the beginning of Season 4, it looked like Jacob Nighthorse (A Martinez) was the source of all evil in Absaroka County. It doesn't look like Walt has anything on him now, and suddenly, he is supporting Cady (Cassidy Freeman) with a big law job. Is he up to something big, besides the casino? If he is up to some kind of other no-good, then surely Malachi Strand (Graham Greene) is involved.
In short, there is a lot that can happen in Season 5 of Longmire, and it could easily be stretched to more than a few seasons, which is just what the showrunners have in mind, apparently. Another thing that really should happen is that Ruby (Louanne Stephens) and the Ferg (Adam Bartley) need to do more.
